In one of the prettieet and most tn*
terestlna golf duels erer witnessed on
the coarse of the Camden Country
club, DeLoach ^beom wj^n^ the club
title by defeatlhg Charley DeLoach
S up and 2 Sunday.
With both players drlTlng In good
form, their tee shots In particular be
ing of the Booming carrying type, the
morning session found Sheom ahead
by one hole. On the first nine in ses.
sion Sheom shot a 42 and DeLoach
a 48. On the second nine both checked
in with 89’s. The scores were higher
than the arerage, this being due to
the fact that neither player was
putting with accustomed accuracy.
In the morning round Sheom was
leading DeLoach 2 up on the 15th hole
but DeLoach came back to take the
next three holes and square the ntatch
as they teed off on the 18th: Sheom
gathered a 8 on this bole and was 1
up on his opponent at the dinner hour.
The title match was actually de
cided on the 8lBt hole which Sheom
won with a birdie 4. This put him
2 up as they started the 82nd. On the
82nd Sheom was again out in front
-with a birdie 2 to go 8 up. The two
players haired the 83rd with 4’s and
the 84th with 6’s. Charley DeLoach
missed an opportunity to win the
hole but his three foot putt lust kissed
the cup rim and the match was over.
The totals for the afternoon rounds
were; Sheom 89-25-74; Cbaa. DeLoach
40-89.75.
Ralph Shannon won the ' second
flight honors by defeating Van Hough
1 up on 18 holes,. This match was a
nip and tuck affair, first Shannon
lead by a hole and then Hough taking
over in front. The match was all even
coming into the 18th which Shannon
won. Shannon's score for the 18 holes
was 88 while that of Hough was 89.
In the third flight Tommie Brace,
a recent daddy, was winner over W.

The meeting opened with the Scout
Doth and Laws. The patrols gave a
report on their weekly meetings. The

over to the scribe. We then had our
business and announcements in which
our Scoutmaster told us about Camp
Barstow and when we go there. Sonny
McClain’s patrol gave the troop a
