brated its annual birthday party in
the church cabin Tuesday afternoon.
The meeting waa called to order by
the president, Mrs. June Tmeedell.
The program was presented by Miss
Mary McKinnon with Mrs. Louise
Lee. Mrs. M. G. King and Mrs. Thom-
well Clybum taking part. Daring the
social hour the cake was cut, tea and
sandwiches were served.

Oen. Wm. G. Llvesay, commanding
general 11th corps, U. S. army, that
J. M. Clybum of Bethnne. S. C.,* for
mer stoff sergent, V. 8. army, has
been awarded the Bronse Star medal
for meritorious service in combat
from December 8, 1948, to May 8,
1945 in North Africa sad Italy. The
greater pait of his duties had to be
performed during hours of darkness
over unimproved and dlfflcuK roads.
These duties were perfonned with
courage and coolnsss, which stood as
an Inspiration to hla men.
