It was cniiouDced here* today by
Chief D. L. Jones, who is In eharf*
of Nsvy recruiting hi this area, that
four Kershaw county men were en
listed In the Nsvy during the first
half of Pebniary. He stated that the
response by the yousg men of this
county to the Navy’s call for men to
man our large peacetlmff^ Navy haa
been very grati^lng but that many
more men are urgently needed to re
lease men who have seen long ardu
ous war-time service and he urges
all men between the ages of 17 and
30 to get full Information on the
many opportunities and advantages
offwed men In the peace-time Navy.
Men on first enlistment are offered
50 different trades to choose from
a#' well as travel, good pay and many
other advantages. Men who re-enllst
within 00 days are paid $60 per year
shipping over pay and enlisted at the
same rate held at the time of dis
charge. •There is a Navy Recruiter at
the Post Office in Camden each
Thursday who will gladly give full in
formation on the opportunities offer-
