Mrs. Bradley Is a Camden girl of
attractive personality. She is a sister
of Ben DeLoach, famous baritone
vocalist. Mr. Bradley is the son. of
Mrs. Anna C, Bradley, supervisor of
the Tuomy hospital In Sumter.

Seaboard Air Line railway as ticket

talking over old times In the Camden

Mrs. 'VonTresckow had provided
her guest and friends with a large
birthday cake which was topped by
lighted tapers. The formality of cut
ting the cake was carried through
with dignity by the honor guest The
VonTresckow home was attractively
decorated with garden flowers, glad
ioli, etc.
..Miss Eldredge waa a sister of the
late Frank Eldredge, who waa the
pioneer In the tourist buildup of
Camden into the leading winter re
sort of the midsouth.

Rev. Paul Webb officiated using the
double ring ceremony. Mrs. Johnnie
Burns, pianist, and Rev. John Dabney,
soloist, furnished the traditional wed
ding music.
Mickey Bums, brother of the bride,

Mrs. Wilbert Williams, sister of the
bride, waa matron of honor and CpL
Vic Mancaso acted as best man.
The bride and groom entered the
room together. The vows were spok
en before a background of palm,
baskets of white gladiolas and cand-
lebrhs with tall white tapers.
The bride was lovely In a navy and
white drees, with which she used
navy acceseoriee. She carried a white
prayer book topped with gardenias.
Immediately after the ceremony an
informal cake-cutting was held with
Missee V. V. Jordan and Lois Black-
well presiding at the punch bowl.

Mrs. Deese. a beautician. Is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Bums.
She is managef of EVances Beauty
Shop at DuBose Park. S-Sgt Deeee is
Jhe son of Mrs. R. H. Deese and the
late Roy H. Deese of Summerfield.

The John D. Kennedy Chapter of
the United Daughters of the Confed
eracy met Monday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Frank Spencer on Chee-
nut St. There were thirteen mem
bers presenL
The president, Mrs. B. C. Von Tres-
ckow presided juid the meeting be
gan with a prayer by the Chaplain.
The rituals with the salute to the
United States and Confederate flags,
were led by Mrs. R. B. Chewning and
Mrs. H. E. Graham respectfully.
The president gave a treasurer ra-
jKiit in the absence of the treasurer,
stating a balance of 146.60 and thirty
paid up members. A motkm was pass
ed by the chapter that we have a
photograph made of General John D.
Kennedy and place It in the U. D. C.

The assistant registrator^ Mrs. Dan
Jonea r^rted that Mrs. Mattie West
bad sent her papers in. Mrs. Anne
Davidson reported that tbe city would
paint the Generala Monument In the
park as soon as the weather would

The president read a news letter
from Mrs. Carson, our State presi-
denL asking for an honor roll of all
boys who fought in World War II
to be sent in. She also atoted the
U. D. C. chapters would be given the
privilege to contribute to the bust
frame to be made of Sidney Lanier
to be placed In the Hall of Fame in
Washinton. Since Sidney Lanier’a
birthday la in February for our pro
gram Mrs. R. M. Kennedy read a let
ter written by her to our senator as
our effort to get Sidney Lanier’s
name placed in the Hall of Fame.
