Llsat. Col. Fred N. Wfmperly, for
merly of the Camden hiah school fac
ulty, who arrived in the States last
month after two yexrs in the Euro
pean theater, is the proud owner of
a wirehaired terrier which he bought
in Cermany. The dog's full name is |
*‘RaJah von Reinatein,” and is only'
beginning to recover from the voyage
to hia new homeland.
Coiqnei Wimberly, who served in
Africa, Italy, France and Germany,
was stationed with the Seventh army
near Heklelherg when he saw Rajah.
In a village up in the mountains,
there was a man who raised dogs for
a living.
"Wlien I saw Rajah," Colonel Wim
berly related. "I liked him, and I
dog," said' his owner. "The first thing
he does when we go in the house Is
to hunt the rSgister."
Rajah has been in the bospHal
twice aince he arrived, in Columbia,
but be is beginning to recover from'
the long sea trip, and he, like most
other South Carolinians, would not
object to a little warm weather.
