Mrs. James Scales and daughter,
Mildred, and son Charles, of New
York, are to arrive December 21. Mrs.
Scales has visited in Camden on other
occasions, the guest of Colonel ant
Mrs. Arthur Metts.
On Friday night Miss Ethel Tates
entertained a group of twelve at din
ner at the Inn in honor of her-^ests,

' lanta. Major Wright Is on termlna
leave. Mrs. Wright and Miss Yates
were classmates at St Marys School,

who have been stationed in California
since October, are expected to arrive
in Camden on Friday. (Captain Bums
is on terminal leave.
Cpl. David W. Waltnku spent two
days with his aunt and , uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. M. Bamch enroute to New
Haven; Conn, to spend Christmas hoi-
idays with his wife and baby.
Mr. and Mrs. Locke Craig have tak
en one of the cottages at (Chancefield
Plantation and Mr. and Mrs. Adams
of Middlebnrg. Virginia are also oc
cupying one of the cottages thwe.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hoffer of Tulsa,
Oklahoma, arrived in Camden this
week to spend the Christmas holidays
with Mr. Hoffer’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry Hoffer, Sr., Chesnut street
Mr. and Mrs. Hoffer made the trip
from Tulsa by plane.

The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Cam
den Hospital will do what they can
to bring to the patients jat the hospi
tal a little CHiristmas cheer.
Mrs. Bob Taller is chairman, and
her enthusiastic committee is prepar
ing Christmas trees, fruits and candy
for the various wards and the main
lallway.

Shields Hall, Jr^* Columbia.
Miss Seagle is a graduate of the
Camden high school and is now teach
er of English in that institution. She
is also a graduate of Converse col
lege. Mr. Hall is the son of Daniel
fields Hall and the late Mrs. Bell
Mebane Hall of Burlington, N. C. He
is affiliated with the advertising de
partment of the State at Columbia.

that Organist Don Roberts and vocal

heaven” might describe the beauty
of the big Hammond organ music that
captivated a capacity crowd of musio
lovers last Sunday. Organist Rob«rtt
lived up to all advance notices as to
his skill and mastery of the fanstru-
ment.

Mystery of Life’’, through the heart
warming and inspiring Christmas
carols and the exquisite blending of
the harmony of the classics, Mr. Rob
erts made the sweet toned Instfument
speak with beauty and expression.
For next Sunday’s program, which
by the way, will be a request affair,

Day” and many other delgihtful se

evening at the Service Mens Clenter
in the Legion building.
The affair will be for service men
and guests and will no donbt attract
a big turnout of young women of
Camden who have been so thought
ful in their 'cooperation with the
Service Center committee in making
the programs so successful.
Rofreshments will be served daring
the evening. It is also proposed to
offer a door priie.
Dancing will start at 8:30 o’clock
and will continue until 12:30 a. m
