Willie E. Parker, who died suddenly
at his home in Sumter, Friday after
noon.

discfarage from the service Dec. 7.
Mr. and Mrs. Horton left for Ashe
ville, N. C., Monday, where they ex

Checks Early
December checks for distribution in
Kershaw County to tfeedy persons re
ceiving public assistance are being
mailed from the state public welfare
office in time to be received early
this week, it is announced by the
chairman of the county board of pub
lic welfare, Norman S. Richards.
Workers in the county welfare of
fice have speeded op preparation of
the necessary reports which must be
approved 'by the county board. These
reports were forwarded to the state
office several days ago. The checks
are written by machinery in the state
office.
Reaidenta of the county will receive
approxlmat^y the following amounta
during the week:
Old age assistanee. |7,500; Aid to
the needy blind, 3300; Aid to depen
dent children. |1,200; General relief.
1700;% total of 19,700.
