patient for a week.

Mrs. Pred A. Brinson u'as thrilled
Wednesday by bearing the voice of
her husband, Capt. Brinson, speaking
in clear tones from SwHxerland. Capt.
Brinson is located In Nurenburg. Ger
many. but expects to leave the 28th
for the States.

years but this may be raised to ^1
years at the next league meeting.
There will bO opposition however to
raising the age limit as a survey of
the high school teams of the state
show that a big maJorit]| of the boys
plating are 15 and 16 years of age.
It Is pointed out that a boy of 21 is
a grown man and it would not be
safe to send men of that age against
16 year old hoys in football competi
tion. The only argument for the 21
y^r limit is that the states- border
ing on South Carolina have the "21.
year age limit and this proves a great
handicap to South Carolina in Inter
state competition.
Then there is the argument that
the boys who left school and are now
returning should not be barred from
playing football because of being 21
years’ of age. It Is said that several
high schools in the state right now,
teams that have been right at the
top in the competition this fall, are
using returning war vetfVans who are
over 20 years of age. There may be
something to that report.

Ky., Novermber 13. Josh, the young
est son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. King,
was recently discharged from the ser
vice.

and executing rocket attacks on
Kerama. Btto, Okinawa and le Shima.
His next assignment was the com
mand of USS LSM 186 which beach
ed tanks and ammunition at Okinawa.
His last assignment has brought him
to this flagship where he has taken
command of LCS Group 12. He has
35 months of overseas service and
served Itf the ftforth and SoutTi At
lantic patrols.
Lt. (5dr. Dan J. Carfison was grad
uated, from the Naval Academy in
1939 arid entered upon his first duty
aboard the USS Trenton as coin-
municatioiis officer? The Trenton
was then in the European Squardon
and visited France. England. Portu
gal, Africa and saw Pacific service
at Manila. Pearl Harbor and Guam.
Then he bwame purchasing officer
at Naval Sir Station, (Corpus Christi,
Texas. Hia next assignment was that
of Assistant gunnery officer on the
USS Biloxi and later became gunnery
officer on the cruiser USS Pittsburg.
He has held the assignment as gun
nery officer abroad the Aircraft Car
rier Yorktown for the past three

and Mrs. Jack Netles, their lovely
little daughter and all the members
of the Nettles family.
For turkey-day 1945 brought back
to the family hearth Pvt. Jack
Nettles, former Camden councilman
and sportsmah.
Pvt. Nettles flew from Iwo Jima to
Hamilton Held. Calif., and thence
took train for Camp (Iordan at Au
gusta. where he received his honor
able discharge. He has been away
for nearly three years, most of the
time in the South Pacific.
