way for locatton of small repair shops
etc., in these areas he believes.
1 The water jdant the mayor sUtes
was riaaned for a much, smaller -cKy
than what Camden is today. For some
time, he says. It has been known that
It has been inadequate to care tor
presMit needs. Considerable addition
al equipment is needed and this will
be Inciuded in the Initial project as
the government is approving proJecU
for Improvementa * and expansion of
the water supply.
As soon as the government is ready
to approve street paving projects,
petitions will be suluBltted to prop
erty owners on nnpaved streets here.
Paved streets are not only solutions
, to traffic problems but also to dust
problems, the mayor aaserta.
Mr. McCorkla has ahrsady had th*
street traffic light standards painted
and dedared Wednesday that hs pro
posed to have the street light stand
ards painted at once. He hopea that
in another year that these standards
can be reidaced by menre modern and
durable posts.

Correction
In giving tee Hat last week of re

this county, we had the name of
James MsndsH Stokes. Jr., under the
colored selectees going into the Ms-
rine corps. 'This was an error on our
part and tbs name should have been
James Wendell Stover, Jr., whose
home is in Camden.
