Miss Evelyn Roberts, who has been
visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Benton Sheorn, Lyttleton street, has
been elected director of music at the
Ridgeland High ‘school and has t*

JUNIOR LEAGUE MEETS
The Junior league held its first
meeting of the 1946-46 year at the
home of the president, Mrs. Marie
Haile, last Monday afternoon. The
tneetlng was of a business nature,
with new members being elected and
committees appointed. Tentative
plans were discussed but no formal
action I taken. The next meeting will
be held the first Monday in October.

Truly” and ’indlan l.rf)ve Call,” and' A.
Clifton McKaln. soloist, sang “Al
ways” and “Because.” The wedding
march from Lohengrin was used for
the processional and during the cere
mony “Llebestraun” was played.
Mendelssbbn's Wedding march from a
Midsummer Night's Dream was used
for the recessional.
The brkle, who was given in marri
age by her father, James Cullie Cony-
era. wore a .wedding gown of ivory
bridal satin made with an embroidered
marquisette yoke, fitted bodice and
leg.o-mutton sleeves with points on
the hriists, and full skin ending in a
train. The finger tipped veil of ivory
bridal illusion was held in place on
tlther side ijy clusters of orange blos
soms. and she carried a bride’s bou
quet of white tube roses centered with
purple-lipped orchids. She worq a
single strand of pearls.
Miss Nancy Sanders w'as the maid
of honor and wore a gown of blush
marquisette over satin, drop shoul
der with fittfd bodfee and narrow
black velvet neck band and wristlets.

Mrs. Conyers, mother of the bride,
was dressed in an early fall street-
length dress of -black' crepe and her
flowers were Bettertime roses. Mrs.
Reeves, the bridegroom’s mother,
wor'' a bl.iok crepe dress trimmed
with aqua-marine and she wore a
shoulder corsage of Brandwlne rose
buds.
A reception was held Immediately
after the cfreraony for die bridal par
ty and wedding guests at the Thomas
Tavern. Bowls of late summer flow
ers were used effectlvfly and the
center table from which the brides
maids served punch and cakes, was
attractive in the arrangement of
smilax, lighted tapers in silver hold
ers and bridal flowers.

left on a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach
after which they will make ther
home at 204 Lakeshore drive. For
traveling the bride wore a two-piece
black cr*pe suit, poudre blue blouse
and small .black hat with a pondre
blue willow plume, black shoes and
bag and w’hite gloves andT a shoulder
bouq'uet of lavender orchids.
Mrs. Reeves is the only daughter of
Mr. ^d Mrs. James Cullie Conyers
of liakeshore Drive. * She is a gradu
ate of the Camden High school and
attended Winthrop college.
The bridegroom Is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Wallace R. Reeves. Sr., of
Wateree Mill. He finished Camden
High school and served with the arm
ed fortes for four years and in the
European theater for two years. He
was given his discharge in Dec., 1944.
