V • « « At this writing we’re, looking for ward to tuning in on the Green Bay Packer All-Star game at Chicago Thursday night and praying that the air waves will be clear of static. Green Bay, with two South Carolina hoys in the lineup, is going to have a big job out to down the All-Stars. But the Bays are noted for their fine game. When you read this, the game will be over. Archie wanted those goals to look nice, so he wandered out to the park with a can of aluminum, a paint brush and a ladder, and when he left, the posts and bars were reno vated %i a most pleasing and natty perspective. • • • J. To those who have experi enced the difficulties and delays oc casioned in getting out of the maze of cars after a game, the bus service will be gratefully received. You can park your car up town, board « bus. go to the park and then after the game take a bus ride back to your car. It saves tempers and also a lot of scratches and dents in fenders • • • • While this column is purely sports, we want to slip in a plug those m>n from Rock Hill who are giving us this bus line. The bus line service, is assured for one year. If you Tike It and want It to eontlnus. and I know we all feel that way, pa tronize the service as much as you can. For this one year trial opera tion will spell either defeat or sue* cess for the venture. Let’s keep It going. Ride the buses and save gas and tires. And besides, it’s just an other step in making Camddn an up- to-date city. • • • • Well folks. It looks very much as if we are going to enjoy equestrian sports next season, by that, we mean, after the first of the year, when the bang tails begin to arrive for the winter training. The Camden hunt, horse shows, hunter trials and the Carolina cup can be marked down on your calendar we believe. And now if we can rally the polo gang together, we’re going to. have some enjoyale Sunday afternoons next February,. Taylor Now Heads Southern Airways School of Flying Former Squadron Commander At Southern Announces HU Plans John W. Taylor, a flyer for 12 years and with more than 3200 hours dying time, has taken over the Southern Airways flying school at the Wood ward airport here. Mr. Taylor is from Atlanta and haa a' commercial pilot license, in structor rating and also an instru ment pilot rating for blind flying. His* career in aviation began with barnstorming as a wlngwalker and parachutist He was a squadron com mander while the Southern Aviation school was in operation here. Mr. Taylor plans to operate the flying school for student Instruction and passenger flying. He will fly only government licensed planes. Ap pointments can be made by calling Phone 6il or in person at the airport. Gene Heinrichs, former pro pastimer with the Columbia Reds of the Sally League, is a full-fledged broadcaster of sports at WIS. Gene is doing a fine job In putting out the sport chat ter. You can figure on hearing a lot about the Camden sport program over the waves from Gene’s mike from now on. Mr. Taylor will bring his wife and son here just as soon as he can obtain a home. He has been in Washington the past seven months with the Air Transport command. Easily Pleased Picnic is a combination of two old French words.
