ho has been overseas for the past
ten months, ia now in a redeployment
camp In France, en route to the Pa-
cttlc theater of war.
Sgt. Segars has three bronse stars
and an air crew member wings to
wear now. He is an aerial en^eer
with the squadron that in the past
two years has seen service in Eng
land and on the continent.
Activated in EMgland in November.
1143, the sqvadron played an import
ant role in General George S. Patton’s
dash across.^JVance from St Lo. Car
rying vital fuel for the rapidly ad
vancing Srd Army tank columns, the
squadron’s un-armored transport
planes frequently operated in areaa
well in advance of German pockets
strong points. Often they were
e first Allied aircraft to utilise new
ly opened fields which still were
bomb-crated and smoking as a result
of fire fights between the enemy and
Patton’s tanks.
Moving to France in November,
1944. the transport men operated from
bases near Paris and following VB
Day ,were engaged in transporting
wounded ex-piisoners of war. dlsplac-
ed Nationals, food and medical sup
plies.

street over last week-end. Mr. Me-
Caskill is assistant commissioner of
Indian Affairs in the Department of
the Interior, Washington, D. C, He
leaves shortly to assume a position
with, the government of Bolivia, as
general manager of the Bolivian De
velopment corporation. He wilt be
in charge of the country's program
of economic developaeut.
