One of the outstanding features of
the recreattonal program that Is now
hi ing carried on In Camden Is that
relating to life saving and resosica-
tlon. '
With so many of the younger peo
ple of the city and vicinity spending
their afternoons In the waters of the
several lakes in the community, the
Instruction of some 80 boys and glris
in the science of resnsicatioD and Ilfs
saving should pay handsome dividends
in the saving of lives.
It has been suggested that the city
take steps to have members of the
police and fire departments take ad
vantage of these instmctloDs ao that
in the event ot some person or per
sons being Jeopardised in the water,
they will know what action to-take.
The ffare department la equipped with
a pulmoter that can be used in cases
ot drowning. '
The recreational program so far has
been confined to the yoongstere in

ing and artificial resuslcatlon lessons
are given at the Hermitage pond
every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday mornings at 11 o’clock

groups of 16 or less are instructed at
a time.
The story hour at the county li
brary is held every Friday afternoon
at 4 o’clock and la followed by a
party. The attmidance at these eveUta
Is always heavy.
The recreational program is being
given stdendld support by the local
Red Cross chapter.

Denton states that the roof of the
building Is disintegrating rapidly and
has fallen in in a number of places.
The walls of the building are of brick
and the roof supports of stem.
