Jiwes A Stokes
Given Summons
James Weidoh Stokes. 72. died at
a Columbia hospital Friday, June 29.
after a lingering illness. He was well
known throughout the State as he had
traveled much during his life.
He was the son of the late Mr. and
Mrs. E. J. Stokes of Bethune. Surviv
ing are three sisters, Mrs. I.Aney
Warr, Mrs. Sallle Reynolds of Cam
den. Mrs. H B. Davis of Bethune;
one brother. J. E. Stokes of Bethune.
and several nelces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted by
Rev. J. D. Reynolds at- the Stokes
cemetery near Bethune Sunday after
noon in the presence of a large crowd
of mourners.
