Lieutenant and Mrs. Bnrwell Cape-
hart and daughter are visiting the
former’s parents, Mr. snd Mrs. W. R.
Capehart, at Carter HUl Plantation.
Lieutenant Capehart, who was cap
tured when his plane- was shot down
over Germany in December 1943, was
a prisoner of war until the surrender
of Germany. He will have a leave

The wedding of Elisabeth Lenhardt
Peters of Chambersbnrg, Pa., and
Philip Stockton Boykin, of Boykin, is
not‘only of considerable interest to
the people of Camden and Boykin,
but to Aiken and Columbia also,
where Mr. Boykin lived for periods
before entering Clemson College and
later the army. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Boykin are now visit
ing relatives in Camden and on the
Fourth of July a large picnic was
given in their honor at Chancefield
Plantation, and the bride was wel
comed to Camden by many friends
and relatives.*

Mr. Richard B. Boykin, of Boykin,

snd Charles Moody, of Washington,
S. Carl Prather, Dr. Louis C. Gordon,
and 'J. McD. Sharpe, all of town, were
ushers.

music was presented by Miss Kath
erine Slerer, church organist, before
the rites. She played the traditional
wedding marches before snd after
the ceremony.
The bridegroom’s mother wore' a
gown of aahes-of-rosea and Mrs.. Pet
ers’ gown was of sea-foam cTei>e. Both
wore corsages of roses.
Following the wedding. Dr. aj^

There Is but one esse of suspected
polio in Kerfhaw County according
to Dr. W. A. Humphries, county
health officer.
There are 44 cases of polio in South
Carolina and of this number nine are
in Sumter county.
The state department of health does
not believe there is any danger of an
epidemic such as prevailed a few
years ago.
