Camden. Wednesdify etenlng, March 15. at 6 o’clocV. The Rev. Henry F Collins, pastor of the church officiated, using the double ring cere mony. The church was decorated with palms and floor baskets of white pdadioll and splria. Tall whhe candles la white candelabras enhanced the beauty of the scene. Mrs. Lois Gandy organist and Mrs Willie Tiller vocalist, rendered the wedding music. Before the ceremony Mrs. Tiller sang “Because” and ‘T Love You Truly.” The traditional wedding marches were used for the processional and recessional. Preceeding the ceremony the can* dies were lighted by J. D. Bilton. of Buuwvilte. brother of the bride, and ElHott. of Camdwi. Marvin Bilton of Charleston, bro ther of the bride, and W. C. Childers, brother-in-law of the groom, served as ushers. The bridd’s only attendant was her later. Miss Elma Bilton, of Charles- foa The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, T. J. Bilton, by whom she was given In marriage. She was beautiful in her street length drfg* of navy crepe with navy and white accessories. Her small close fitted white flowered hat had a navy ihoulder length veil. At her waist ihf wwe’ a white, purple throated or- rbid. Her only ornament was a doable strand of pearls. The bridegroom and his best man H’ J. (Bill) Seaborn met the bride t the altar. Mrs. Hammond is the youngest daughter of Mr. and*Mrs. T. J. Bilton, of Eutawville. She is a graduate of RuUwville high ichool and has re ft ntly received her R. N. degree from the Camden Hospital School of Nora- ing, Camden. Mr. Hammotid Is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Hammond, ot Heath Springs. He is a graduate ot Heath Springs high school In IMS he received his discharge from the Navy, smd since then be has been connected with Southern Airways and H P C. at Woodward Field, Camden. After the ceremony the couple re ceived their friends at the church door, after which they left for a short wedding trip. The couple are making their home in Camden. Mrs.'A;-A. Madden and Dr. Rthel Mae Madden of Columbia, were guests of Mrs. Marie Tindal Sunday. Mrs. R. F. Jenkins returned to her home at Baltlniore, Mtf., after a months visit with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stokes went to Blackstone, .Vav.-JWednesday to at tend the funeral of their brother-in- law, Major William W. Roberts. Lt. Wi)liam Q. Major, Jr., has beeh at home for several days, en route from Grand Island Army Air base, Nebraska, to Jackson Army Air base, Jackson, Miss. Lieut. Garrett M. Miller has gone to Salinas Air Base, In Califomia. after spending a leave here with his wife, the former Miss Grace Horton, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smyrl. Lieut. Miller is a pilot of a B-26 and he expects to leave soon for the Paci fic Theater of war. The Misses Gilda and Thelma' Klevit announced that parents' who’d like a night out, but are held home-bound by baby’s needs, now, may break their shackles in the easiest possible fashion-,-by purchas ing a War Bond fromr^e of a group of 20 sorority girls. Graduated now, the Sisters Klevit; have kept up their contact wi' their friends, and wihen not ten' baby are F^eral workers. 'They' take care of baby if pop and mom* will buy a War Bond. ' : The sisters said that during pre vious loans other sororities ana some fraternities shoveled ashes, cleaned, cellars" and dicL -other household' chores in return for War Bond pur-, chases and they suggest their plan' be carried out nationally. William Baldwin Pitts of the U8MCR son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben B. Pitta of this city. The announcement was made at a formal gathering at the Smythe home. Mlaa Smythe is a student of the University of Hawaii. Lt. Pitts is a graduate of Furman university and was a member ef^he S. T. B. frater nity. The date for the wedding has not been announced. AUXILIARY MEETING .The final meeting of the Hospital Auxiliary for the summer months will be held at the Nurses home next Mon day, May 2S, at 4 o’clock. In as much as this Is the annual meeting at which officers for the year will be elected, it is eameatly requested that all mem bers attend. Cleaning Blinds Use a blind brush clesm clo^ to brush off Venetian blindk. Then take one pan of warm 'water with mild white soap and cloth to get off the spots and film. Have cloth Just damp, not wet, as water ought not to run or fet on the tapes. Have another pan at same time, with clear warm water, for rinsing. An other cloth to dry thoroughly. Then, as a final step, dip a small Hoth into a good qu^ity liquid wax and wax each alat. 'That makes four steps in all for each slat, really clean. Do this twice • year and brush when needed at other times. The final wax coating restores the gloss to the slats and helpa to keep them cleaner. You will have to change your water frequently as it probebly will get quite dirty. . Since her graduation from busintss college she has been employed with the Haverty Furniture company of Columbia. Mr. Stabler is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stabler of St. Matthews. He attended Wofford college and was a member of Kappa Slgm^ fraternity. He Is now with Hawthorne Flying school. Among the out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Wall, the latter talking to the ladles about the news letter that is being sent to the nu^ in service. An American flag and standard was presented to the Presbyterian Sunday school by Mrs. J Team Gettys froiii the Council. Raker, who has accept ed a call to the Pin© Tree Presbyter ian church, at Cassatt and Bethune rhurch, will be installed Sunday, May 27.
