Virginia Gildersleeve, dean of Bar
nard college, N, Y., who is the only
lady ^delegate appointed to attend the
San Francisco conference, was the
recent guest here of Miss Ruth Rich
ards. She left for Washington to at
tend the preliminary meetings now
being held in connection with the
conference.
Mrs.^^F. Kihg of Logoff, and Mrs.
Charlie^^- Hanson, formerly of Lu-
goff^ but now living in Seattle, were
recent guests of Mrs. Jimmie Robin
son of Richland, Washington. Mrs.
King and Mrs. Robinson are daughters
of Mrs. Annie Re3rnold8 of Logoff,
and Mrs. Hanson is the daughter of
Mrs. Celena Auledge of Camden.
HOSPITAL BALL BIG SUCCESS
Miss Jane Trantham kept the
terpslchorean honors in the family
when at the annual ball of the Cam
den Hospital Auxiliary at the Sars-
field club Friday night, in company
with Flight Officer Joe Vamosi of the
Congaree Air Base, she was awarded
the honors in the waltz contest, a
feature of a rare evening of enjoy-
ment for the hundred or more couples
attending this gala affair. A sister.
Miss Maggie Trantham, now wife of
Lt. Paul Sfmple of Columbia, gras
winner in the waltz event a year ago.
The 1945 dancing fete of the wo
man’s auxiliary, described as a Red,
White and Blue Ball, was the soclty
event of the season in Camden social
trircles. Listed as patrons and pa

Beautifol in its simplicity waa the
wedding of Mlaa ESisabeth Anne De-
Bmhl and Rev. Matthew Murdlc Ra-
bon which took place at 0 o’clock
Tuesday evening. Peb. 37. In the First
Baptist church of Camden.
, ’The Rev. Paul Webb and Rev. J.
B. Caston, respfctlve pastors of the
bride and bridegroom, officiated, using
the double ring ceremony, in the pres
ence of a large assemblage of rela
tives and friends.
The church wss very effectively
decorated with floor baskets of white
gladiolis and carnations and small
white candles. Tall palms and white
lighted candles in candelabra made a
lovely background for the ceremony.
Mrs. F. N. McCorkle, organist, and
Mrs. C. H. Stogner. vocalist, furnish
ed the wedding music.
The usher-groosmen were Dr. D. C.
Hinson. C. H. Stogner, Charles Gar
nett, H. H. Maddox, Clyde Turbeville
and Paul Currie, all of Camden.
Miss Madeline Sbealy qf Chapin and
Columbia, classmate of the bride and
Miss Marjorie Rabon of Cayce, sister
of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids.
Mrs. Thomas S. Ehinbar (Mildred
Gardner) of Wlnnsboro and Charles
ton, a classmate of the bride, waa
matron of honor.
The attractive auburn haired bride
who waa given in marriage by her
father, O. B. DeBruhl, was never
lovelier than in her wedding gown of
bridal white satin featuring a fitted
bodice, sweetheart neckline, long
sleeves which ended in a point below
the wrists and a low cut waist, on
which was gathered the very full skirt
of double net, extending into a leng
thy train. Her finger tip veil, face
vogue, of bridal illusion, fell from- a
cap of white bridal satin an(| a coro
net of gardenias. ’The bride carried a
satin bound ritual, centered with a
large white lily and showered with
tiny ribbons and blossoms. The
bride’s only ornament, a beautiful
pink gold lily, centered with a tiny
pearl and a gold chain was a gift of
the bridegroom.
The Rev. Boyce Allen Davis, friend
of the bridegroom and former pastor
of both bride ttad bridegroom, was.
the best man.
After the ceremony, the bride and
bridegroom, with the bride’s parents,
received the congratulations of their
friends at a reception held in the
living room of the nurses home of the
Camden hospital.

Mrs. Rabon is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. G. B. DeBruhl of (lilimden.
She is a graduate of the Camden High
school, and is a registered nurse, re
ceiving her'degree from the South
Carolina State Hospital School for
Nurses, Columbia, and the school for
nurses Of the South Carolina Medical
college of Gharleston. At present' she
is ward supervisor in the Camden
hospital
Mr. Rabon is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. W. O. Ra^n of Cayce. He is
a ..graduate of the Camden High
school and has attended the Columbia
Bible college, Columbia, Wingate Jr.
college, Wingate, N. C., and is now
studying at the University of South
Carolina. Mr. Rabon entered the
ministry seven years ago, and at
present is pastorlng the Blaney, Cas
satt. Providence, ML Zion, Malvern
Hill churches, and is the associate
pastor of First Baptist church in
Camden.
CLUB MEETING
The Cassatt-Oakland club held Its
regular meeting with Mrs. W. J.
Parker. The meeting was called to
order by the president after which
the minutes and roll call was given
by the secretary. Miss Fewell led the
devotional by telling of the shortage
of food and clothing^ in China. She
then ^ave valu^le pamphlets to mem
bers on dish washing. Refreshments
were served by the hostess. The
meeting adjonrned to meet with Mrs.
S. McLaughlin on April 17.

Hermitage mill office, was presented
with the Bronze Star medal, which
has been poathuhiousTy awarded her

Camp Croft, at an informal ceremony
held at Camp."Croft on Thursday,

The citation, which accompanies
the Bronze Star medal, reads as fol

Wilson of this city.
Monday, March 19, was an anni
versary in the nuptial life of these
two fine people, for It marked the
65th anniversary of their wedding.
Tes; it was EG ^ears ago last Monday
that Miss Jane Moseley became the
charming bride of John W. Wilson.
The more than half a century of
wedded life has been featured by
much happiness on the part of both.
Mr. Wilson was for over 80 years
the city health officer. Prior to that
be was engaged in the aaddle and har
ness business and later as a painter
and paper hanger. Today he is on
the city pay roll in an advisory ca
pacity.
