at a ceremony that took place at 6:30
o’clock on the aftennion of Wednee-
day, Dec. 27 at the Cureton home,
Jtev. Joseph Dendy of the T.lberty Hill
Presbyterian church, officiating. The
single ring ritual was used. *
Following the ceremony the parents
of the bride, together with the bridal
couple receired the guests at an in-
formal reception. Daring the hour of
the Inception delicious refreshments
were served.
The bride, attired in an afternoon
black crepe dress, presented a most
attractive appearance. Her corsafe
was of orchids. She was educated at
Liberty Hill and Great Falls and fol
lowing her'i?raduarton she engaged In
secretarial work for a government of
fice in Camden and Biahppvllle. The
groom Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W.
McCutchen of Blshopvllle, and attend
ed school in Blshopvllle and at David
son college. He Is associated with
his father in business. _
The young couple are now on B"
honeymoon in F’lorida but upon their
return will make their home - in

F'uneral servises were held at
o’clock Thursday afternoon from the
Bethune Presbyterian church, conduct
ed by the Rev. Nell Truesdale, the
Rev. J. V'. Murray and the Rev. Mr.
Altman. Interment was in the 'Turkey
Creek cemetery.

cial event of the year last Sautrday
evening.
A buffet supper followed by a dance
was enjoyed by some 140 lavUed
guests. An orchestra from Shaw
Field provided musical inspiration for
young and old. for the gathering
ound Southern belles of college age
tripping the light fantastic with men
of greying hair. Previous annual
events of a similar nature have a.I-
ways found a plentltude of young men
jnt this time youth was absent—away
n uniform, some in the navy, some
in the army and some in the flying
corps.
Mr. and Mrs. Buckley and their
charming daughters extended the
guests the same genial and cordial
welcome that has featured their every
social event since taking up residence
here several years ago.
The buffet supper was served in
the main dining room and the summer
room on*the first floor with coffee
later in the card room. A large punch
bowl beneath the ornate wrought iron
staircase provided liquid refreshments
Dancing was on the second floor,
where the spacious drarwing rooms and
hall offered ideal dance ball facilities.
Quests watched the dancers from the
ipagniflcent stairway that extends
from the hall on the second or main
fhxjr to the third floor.
