and Kershaw county will be extended

courtesies and help when they return
after being discharged from, the serv
ice they have rendered during the
present world war.
Tentative plans toward the setting
up of an organisation that will -func
tion. in an advisory capacity, toward
the returning veterans were discuss-
at a meeting of some hundred'or
more citixens of the city and pounty
k«M at the court house Mondsy after
noon.
The City of Camden government
was represented by Councilman J. E.
McKsin, the county board and delega
tion by Senator W^T. Redfearn, also
by RepresentaUve R. M. Kennedy. Jr.,
while all county institutions were
represented by those in charge of the
respective units. The Red Cross, De
fense Council and other groups were
also represented.
Henty Savage, Jr., presided at the
meeting and lt_. s^as his suggeationj. —
relative to the establishing of a group
of business, civic and spiritual lead
ers to be In readiness In an advisory
capacity toward the returning veter
ans that was approved. The purpose
of the group of .20 or more It IS hoped
to secure, will be to discourage mis
understanding between the veterans
and the citizens on the home front.
It was pointed out that the,soldiers
who have fought on . the overseas
fronts will return in a resentful man
ner, this state of affairs being caused
by their learning of strikes, of gay
social events, etc., that was publicized
