DANCE WAS* BIG SUCCESS The dancing party given at the St. Mary’s hall last Saturday night for service men was a big success. It was 14 the nature of a Halloween par ty and the ball was attractively dec orated with Halloween features. The affair was given under the anaplcea of tha,Ceatar. and ■nMW guests were transported from' the ^Jentw^ to-the hall in taxis, the ex pense of which was taken care of by a contribution from the Red Cross Mo tor corps. \ The use of St, Mary^ hall was con. trlbuted by Father ^mund Burke of the Catholic church, w^o also met the expense of light and* heat The committee in charge of the dance con- sisted of Mrs. John Mullen, Mrs. War ren H. Harris, Miss Nancy Sanders, Miss Jane Trantham and Mrs. Molly DeLoach. Bobbing for apples con stituted one of the evening features. Mrs. Campbell Steward presented the Center with a supply of coffee*, while Mrs. Jack Nettles eoBtrtbuted a supply of doughnuts. During the evening coffee, sweet cider, doughnuts and toasted marshmallows were serv ed. BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. B. B. Brannon honored her father, W. L. Stokes, Sr., on his 68th birthday, with a dinner party, Sun day, Nov. 6. Gueets at the dinner were Mrs. Stokes, her son. Captain Carlyle Jackson, Elisabeth Jackson, Mrs. L. L. West and daughter, Sgt Laura W. Thompson, and David West, Ifr.jsnd Mrs. 8. I* Crglley and family from Lancaster. During the after noon Mr. and Sirs. Wade Stokes. Jr. and daughter, Virginia, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stokes and boys, Mr. and Mrs. Author Stokes and son called, all bringing presents. Mr. Stokes has four other children who were unable to be present. LEGION AUXILIARY The American Legion Auxiliary will meet at the home of Mrs. Leon Schlos- burg with Mrs. Hubert Wilson and Mrs. Dess Goodale as assistant hos tesses on Friday, Nov. 17. Mr. Oliver Rict it to be the guest speaker and will, explain the G. I. Bill of Rights. Miss Phyllis Kareeh will read '‘Un titled,’* by Richard Corwin. On Friday, Nov. 19, the Legion and the AuxUiaiT' will have charge of the Armistice* Day exercises at the Gram mar school. ^ QAnOWH CLUB The Camden Garden club w'ill meet with Mrs. W. S. WORTH FOUR GALLONS ’The new A gasoline coupons, which become valid today, are good for four gallons the ration board reminded the public. The new books contain six coupons' at four gallons each instead of -the usual eight coupons at three gallons each. Motorists and gas dis tributors are asked to note the change. Senigo, Sr., of Auburndale, Masa. HOSPITAL AUXILIARY HOLDS MONTHLY MEETING ’The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Cam den hospital held their monthly meet ing Oct. SO, at the Nurses’ home with 11 members present. Much business was transacted. Mrs. Goodale request ed that a vice president and a corre sponding secretary be added to the list of officers. A nominating commit tee will be appointed this month and nominees will be presented for voting upon at the November meeting. MRS. (GOODALE ENTERTAINS The members of the Wednesday af ternoon bridge club were entertained this week by Mrs. F. D. Goodale at her home on Broad street.
