Taylor, were their daughter, Mrs. Mark Johnson, and Mr. Johnson, and granddaughter,. Miss Susan Johnson, of Charlotte. N. C of Miss Josephine Miller of Bowling Green. Ky., to Lt. Dan L. Thames of this, city, which took place in the post chapel of the A. A. F. Convales cent hospital at Nashville, Tenn., Oct. 17. Chaplain Pollard of the Army, officiated at the ceremony. Miss Catherine Miller, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother. Alton Miller, was attired in a suit of blue with black and white ac cessories. Bnish announce the marriage of their daugh ter, Virginia Ruth, Lieutenant, Army Nurse corps, to Mr. Jack Stogner, Ldeutenant, Army Air corpp, on Fri day, September 22, 1944, at the First Baptist church, Montgomery, Ala., by Dr. Frank Tripp. Following the ceremony a reception was given at the Officers club. The young couple received many splendid gifts. The bride is a graduate of Western Ky., State Teachers Training school and the groom is a son of Mrs. T. J. Thames and the late Mr. Thames of this city. He is a graduate of Flor ence High school and has been In the army since 1939. The past three years he spent in overseas duty. A finger tip veil covered her face and was arranged under a wreath of orange' blossoms. She carried a bou quet of white roses showered with -smalt white Mrs. Annie Boykin has returned after spending the week-end in Dillon with her sister, Mrs. Hamer, and Mr. Hamer. While there she also attend ed home coming lit Flora McDonald college In -Red Springs, M. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. McCarley and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Cantey left Thurs day for Stanton. James Smith Heyward Clarkson of this city, solemnised in tho First Presbyterian church at Darlington by Rev. T. EHlison Simpson, pastor of the church at 7:30 o’clock. Mrs. T. Dorsey Sligh, organist, and Miss Mary Ramsey, soprano.i provided the musi cal setting for the ceremony. Ervin Dargan, bother of_ ihe bride, of Conway, Frank Williamson, Bland- Ing Clarkson of Hartsville and Fran cis Marion of . York, were groomsmen. James Clarkson of this city, father of the groom, was best man. Miss Halite Clarkson of this city, sister of the groom. Miss Guerry Ervin of York, a first cousin of the bride, Miss Betty DuBose of Oswego, and Miss Bert Wilson ware the attendants of the bride. Miss Elizabeth Ervin, a cousin, was her maid of honor. The maids all wore dresses of soft pink crepe, the matron and maid of honor similar dresses but la forget-me-not blue! All carried colonial bouquets Mrs. W. A. Barron, a sister of t|ie bride, was matron of honor. Edwin Dargan of Williamson, neph ew of the bride was ring bearer. He was dressed in white and carried the ring on a white satin pillow.
