NOTICE
TO DELINQUENT TAXPAYERS
In compliance with the law, the Comp
troller General's office has instructed my-
office to make collection in all Delinquent
Taxes in Kershaw County during the Fall
and in all cases where the taxes are not
paid promptly, I am required to levy up
on and sell the property of the Delin
quent Taxpayer for the taxes. Many
automobiles have been escaping taxation.
My definite instructions are to seize, levy
upon, and sell such cars, upon which tax
es have not been paid, unless payment of
taxes be made promptly.
I have no choice in the matter, and I
hope that the taxpayers will cooperate
with my office, so that the taxes may be
collected without levy and sale, which
would necessarily involve more expense
to the taxpayer.

B-24 Liberator bomber mechanics
school at ICeesler Field. He is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Rush, Mill St,
Camden.
The many friends of Sgt. Douglas
McMillan Kennedy, who was wounded
in France, will be glad to know that
a letter from him dated Sept., In a
hospital in England, has been received
by his mother. He says they have
the best medical attention in the
world and not to worry. His address

Promotion of Frank & Zerbe, 22. of
Honolulu, T. H.,'from second lieuten
ant to first lieutenant has been an
nounced at a Eighth Air Force B-17
Flying Fortress station. He is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Zerbe of
2632 Seventh Ave., Los Angeles, Calif.
His wife is Mrs. Ethel Ann Zerbe of
Camden. Before entering the service
he was a musician with Bobby. Sher.

spending ten days here with his sis
ter, Mrs. Charlie Russell and Mr.
Russell. During their visit here Mrs.
Russell entertained with a drop-in-
party, honoring them and Mr. and
Mrs. J. Clarence Sancken of Angusta,
Ga.

time 'Training station fit St. Peters
burg, Fla.
Bob Scott was an outstanding pitch-
er on the Camden Junior Legion team
this year. He was also a good first
baseman and outfielder and one of
the most dependable players on the
team.
He is now in his preliminary period
of training and will enter the Engine
department where he will take up
subjects of rigging general principle
4)f steam, boilers, engines, gunnery and
other practical subjects.
