Dr. McDowell IKes At Kershaw Dr. W. C, McDowdir, ^3, prominent retired dentist and planter, died and- denly of a heart attack at his home at Kerahaw Tuesday night A eon of the late J. A. and Matilda Cauthen McDowell, he was born and reared In the Flat Bock section of Kershaw county. He attended Clem- son college, of which he was a charter student, and was a graduate of the Southerh Dental college, in AtUnta. Qa. After completing hie education he successfully practiced his profes sion in Kershaw for 30 years. He was an active member of .the Metho dist church, having been a delegate to the annual conferences for the pqat 25 years. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ira Biil'ney McDowell i four children, Dorothy McDowell, Kershaw; Dr. W. D. McDowell. Charleston; Lt. James J. McDowell. Camp Edison. N. J., and Pvt Eklwin B. McDowell, Quantico, Va.; one granddaughter, one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Charlie Sls- Ure, Kershaw; T, P. and C. K. Mc Dowell, WestvUle. and P. A.
