URGENTLY NEED YOUR HELP IN HARVESTING
THE® UNUSUALLY LARGE
The farmers of South Carolina have
been blessed with the largest cotton crop
in the past 15 or 20 years.
The labor supply is the lowest it has
ever been and the farmers are faced with
an unprecedented problem in gathering
this crop:

Therefore this appeal is made to the

people of Kershaw County to give assist
ance in this important task. Schools,
churches, dvic organizations and all hr--

dividuals are. requested to help in every
way possible. Any person that can put
in only a few hours will help that much.
Women’s ciubsare adsed to organise and
pick a few bales; the help of school chil
dren is needed, as well as every other per
son who can pick a pound of cotton.

It is more than ever necessary this
year that the cotton not be allowed to de
teriorate in the fields. Government loans
will more or less set the price. Differen
tial in loans on various grades of cotton
vary as much as $25.00 per bale. We can
not affofd for our people to take this loss
by letting cotton stay in the fields too
