the Naval Academy et Annapolis
Wednesday, June 7, at 4 o’clock in the
afternoon.
The bride was attended by Miss
Pansy HoweU of Somter, while Thad-
deus Taylor of Annapolis, Md-, and
Jodinsos City, Tehh., was best man.
The single ring ritual was used. Miss
McDowell’s wedding gown 'was of San
dringham blue crepe and she carried
a prayer book toppM with a white or
chid and a lace handkerchief. Miss
Howell’s dress was of champagne
crepe and she wore black accessories
and carried a spray of red roses.
Among those present were Mr. and
Mra. John Mullen, Sr., of Camden.
Miss Jane Buckley of Camden and
Sharon, Conn.; 'Midshipman Kirby
Tupper, and Midshipman John Lsmg
ford. Jr., both of Camden, and class
mates of the groom.
Ensign Mullen has been assigned to
the Naval Air Station school at Jack
sonville, Fla. They will be At home
after June 21 at Mulball, Camden.
Mrs. Mullen, mother ot the groom,
wore a dove gray lace gown and a
corsage of gardenias.
Ehislgn Mullen was outstanding In
athletics during his school days and
Anne Whitaker has been the recipient
of several parties.
Mrs. John M. Vlllepigue entertained
in her honor at her home on Lyt tie-
ton street with a lovely tea. Ihinch
was served by Miss Lillian Yates
along with 'sandwiches and cakes.
White lilies were used on the punch
table while arrangements of lark
spur in pastel shades were used
throughout the bouse. The hostess
was assisted by Mrs. D. A. Boykin
and Mrs. B. N. McDowell.
Miss Margaret Rockafellow enter
tained with a bridge party at her
home on Broad street. Tables were
arranged for sixteen gueets. Spring
flowers artistically decorated the
rooms. High score prise was won by
Miss Betty Thomas while low score
prlxe went to Mrs. Albert Heyward.

Mrs. Pierce Cantey and Mrs. Ralph
Shannon entertained Friday, June 2,
at the home of the latter with a de
lightful tea. The house was attrac
tively decorated with spring flowers.
Twenty-five guests called during the
afternoon. The hostesses served

school football, baseball and basket
ball teams.
Mrs. Mullen was also a devotee of
athletics and during her high school
years, played with the girls’ basketball
team. She was one of the outstanding

their last meeting for this year by

A Saturday night hop with music

o’clock.
The dance will be given for all

Following the grand march, which
was led by Miss Molly Ruth Redfearn
and Mr. Mickey Jonea, the new mem
