Owing to limited space the Chron*
tele was not able to giye the proper
news coverage to the D-Day program
that was presented In the auditorium
of the Grammar school last week,
Tuesday, at 8: SO p. m.
The auditorium was crowded, every
seat -beina taken white aeverti bun'
dred people, unable to get in, stood
outside until long after the program
had started in the hope that they
could inaaate to edge In to take part

the whole affair was not presented In
one of the city parks, where a much
greater crowd could have been accom
odated and where" with a public ad*

of the various speakers could have
been heard.
The program followed cloae upon
the completion of the High school
senior graduatiott exercises, with the
Rev. i. B. Caston. paator of the First
Baptist church, presiding.

ing of the hymn "O God, Our Heli^ In
Ages Past," after which ReT. Henry
Collins of the Lyttleton Street Metho
dist church, offered the^ invocstlon.
Rev. A. D. McAm of the Bethesda
Presbyterian church, read the scrip
ture lesson, after which Rev. W. R.
Gregg offered prayer. In turn came
the singing of the hymn "Eternal
Father Strong To Save," and in turn
the singing of one verse of "America."

the pledge of allegiance to the flag,

of $460 for the employment of a full
time trataed recraattonal director by

quota of 1418,000, which started last
Monday, June 12, carries a great rw-

Mr. Heyman and his committee hfg
functioned successfully In previous
war loan drives. It has been a well
organlxed unit and its mewibere have
owved faithfully, doing an excellent
work, and in every instance, going
over the top. «

served to make the committee alert

success. People in all walks of Ufa
