The presence of such a project In
or near Camden would mean much to
the business interests of the city or
county, in that much foodstuff would
be required,
The Chamber of Commerce has been
advised by Congressman Richards ihat
there is a bill now before Congress
which provides a large appropriation
for additional hospital facilities for
veterans.
Washington contacts of the Cham*
ber of Commerce have been requested
to again bring the attention of the
proper authorities to the Camden
briefs and the advantages which this
city offers as a location for either a
veteran or army hospital.
The Chamber suggest that the ad*
ministration be asked to consider the
present layout of the Houthern Avia
tion school as a nucleus for a hos
pital or some other government proj
ect.
At the annual board of directors
meeting of the Kersbair County Tu
berculosis Association held in Cam
den last week the following were
presented by Mrs, W. J. Mayfield,
chairman of the nominating commit-
tee, and were ^ected to serve as
board members for the year 1944.

each club being entitled to one dele
gate for every 25 members and one,

polled in the first primary of the
preceding election year.
Each club is requested to elect a
committee on enrollment and such
other committees as may to Gtem
seem advisable.
The newly elected president and
secretary of each club are requested to
certify to the County convention a list
of i^eir delegates and the name of
their executive committeeman.
The County Democratic convention,
under the rules of the party, will meet
at the Court House, Camden, S. C.,
