The Municipal Democratic Primary
for the purpose of eleetlng a Mayor

Camden, S. C., will be held on Tuee-
day, March 7, 1944. The polls will
open at 9 a. m. and remain open until
6 p. m.
The books of enrollment will open
February 7, 1944, and close ^t 6 p. m.

the Chairman of the Executive Com
mittee, prior to d p. m. of February

Mr. L. J. Hook, field supervisor for
the Emergency Crop and Feed Loan
office, stated that farmers of Ker-
show County are now applying for
loans to finance the production of
their 1944 crops. Applications for
loans are now being written In the
Agriculture Building at Camden. He
stated thaL in addition to financing
the production of the crops regularly
grown in this vicinity, loans were
also J)eing made for the production of
those crops declared essential to and
so vitally needed in the war effort
this year. Plans for 1944 call for
increased production of many food
crops. The production goal for such
of these crops as the Extension Serv
ice considers can be successfully
planted and grown In Kershaw County

tion with the view that credit will be
extended, wherever needed, so that
no farm family will be denied the

Emergency crop loans are available
to farmers, either owners or tenants,

for land to farm, who own or have
the use of necessary workstock and
equipment wrlth which to farm, and
who can give as security a first lien
on the crops to be financed. These
loans will be made to farmers whose
cash requirements are relatively small
and who are uhkble to obtain loans
sufficient to meet their needs from
other sources, including local banks
and production credit associations.
