C., and completed a business codrse
at Kings Business college. • She has
held a responsible position with Ter
rell Machine Co. in Charlotte, N. C
for six years.
Lt. Browp is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Luther Brown of Rural
Retreat, Vk. He graduated from the
schools there and received his college
training in Maryland. He has been
at the Port of Embarkation for some
time and left for active duty over seas
this past week.

John Stover, Mrs. Newell Wimberly,
Mrs. Horace Howard, Miss Nancy
Watts, the honor guest apd the hos
tess. Prises were awarded Mra.
Howard (Clara Hough) or high score,
Mrs. Wimberly for low score, and Mrs.
Moody for consolation. Mrs. Moody
also waa given eight crystal goblets
in her chosen pattern, tied with a gar
denia corsage. Mrs. J. H. McLeod and
Mrs. B. W. Marshall called after
cards. The hostess served a delicious
salad course and coffee.
- Mrs. Moody was again honored on
Saturday morning before her wed
ding when'Miss. Nancy Watts enter
tained at her' home on Highland ave
nue. Sixteen of her most Intimate
friends were invited for 10:30 and
breakfast was served immediately.
The dining room was beautiful with
ita color scheme of blue and pink. The
blue cloth with ita centerpiece of pink
roses and real flower place cards and
the brides place marked with a rose-
bad corsage lent a festive air to the
oc'aslon. Miss Watts was assisted by
Mrs. E. C. Watts, Jr., and an outof-
town guest was Miss Laura Moseley
of Laurlnburg, N. C, .
