Word has just been received by Mrs. Everett Montgomery that her husband, Pvt. Everett Montgomery, U. 8. Army, has arrived safely in England He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R Montgomery*. Garrison street. Lt. and Mrs. Douglas Montgomery spent a few days in Camden en route to Oklahoma City, where Lt. Montgomery will report for new duty. Mrs. Montgomery waS Miss Neeva Shannon before her recent marriage. Mrs. Oran A. Hydrick and son, Bill Heath, of Fort Benning, Ga., arrived Tuesday for a visit with her sister, Mrs. W. W. Bates, at the Cedars and the Pines. Col. Hydrick will join them here later. Mrs. C. R. Holston has gone back to her homo In Saliua, Ivans., after spending three weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Hunter of Camden. Mrs. Holston will join her husband, Sgt. C. R. Holston, at Camp Philips, Kansas. The American Legion post held its annual meeting at the Jack Whltaker cottage on Hermitage Pond last week. Because of the lateness of the hour when the entertainment features were ended, the election was postponed until a later date. Mips Katherine Kennedy of Camp Lee, Va., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Kennedy, Jr., Fair street. They also have as their guests their son, Lieut. R. M. Kennedy, 3rd, of Camp Davis, N. C., who is being transferred to California. H. L. Minis, age 39, has been appointed a member of the Camden police department. He succeeds Earl McManus, who was recently appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Pat Orr, but because of physical 'disability. was unable to continue. Mrs. Harrington Yates and daughter. Sloane, and son. Harrington Yates, j Jr., who have been makiug their home in Denton. Texas, are here for two months with relatives. Major Yates is at Fort Benning for advance training. He has been stationed at Camp Howze, Texas. Mrs. John M. Chapin and Miss Elsie Redfearn will leave Monday for Myrtle Beach, where they plan to remain the week. During Mrs. Chapin's absence from her desk as assistant secretary of the Chamber of Commerce her place will be filled by Mrs. Harriet Osborne. Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Peach have bad as their guests their children, Miss Willie Mae Peach of Charleston, and Pvt. T. J. Peach, who was inducted Into the Army June 10, and who is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood. Mo. They also entertained Sgt. C. F. Heopner of Minn, and Charleston. ' Simon Elchel, president of the Camden Retail Merchants' Association, attended a meeting on Thursday of Merchant's Association Executives at the Jefferson Hotel In Columbia. The meeting was sponsored by the Columbia Merchants' Association. Several noted speakers were present and addressed the conference. Columbia?Dr. Luther Allen Riser of Newberry, was elected director of the Bureau of Vital Statistics recently by the State Board of Health, succeeding Dr. Maritn A. Woodward of Aiken. MUS. ALHERT CHARLES NAIFUL REED-NAUFUL Sainl Mary's Catholic church was tho scene of a beautiful wedding Tuesday morning i0 11 o'clock when Miss Mary i/ouise Reed became the bride of Albert Charles Nauful. Father J. Edmund Burke, assisted by Father Clumber of New York, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. Prior to the ceremony Mrs. F. N. McCorkle, organist, played aprogram of nuptial music which included "Serenade," from Schubert, and "Opening Theme From Piano Concerto No. 1," by Tchaikowsky. Tho wedding march from "Lohengrin." by Wagner, was Bed for the processional and Mendelssohn's march from "Midsummer's Night Dream" for the recessional. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Joseph Sheheen Reed of Orangeburg, was beautiful in a wedding gown of bridal white lace and marquisette fashioned with long waist with lace inserts extending from tho bodice down into the skirt. It was made with a sweetheart neckline, long fitted sleeves and a finger-tip veil, worn coronet style from a wreath of seed pearls. She also wore a double string of pearls and carried a white prayer book with a single white orchid showered with lilies of tho valley. Tlte vows were Bpoken before the I altar which was centered with a huge antique brass urn holding white gladioli, snapdragons, and carnations. Summer greenery was used effectively with the many branched candlobras and cathderal tapers. Miss Theresa Reed was her sister's only attendant. She wore a floorlength gown of ice blue marquisette made with a full skirt, sweetheart neckline and elbow length sleeves. Her hat was of starched marquisette worn off face and she carried an old fashioned nose-gay of pink rose buds and white carnations. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls. Ernest Nauful, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Mrs. Reed, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue printed silk dress, navy blue hat and a corsage of Talisman roses. * The groom's mother, Mrs. Eli Nauful, was gowned in Aqua crepe, white accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses. A reception was held Immediately after the ceremony at the home of the bride. The home was exquisitely decorated and a full course luncheon was served. Summer flowers were used throughout the entire lower floor. Mrs. Joe Kennerly of Holly Hill, greeted the guests. After luncheon the couple left for an extended trip to New York. Mrs. Nauful wore for traveling a navy blue sheer suit with whito touches, a starchod linen Breton saiW>r. white accessories and a shoulder bouquet of white orchids. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nero' Reed. graduated from Camden city schools am! attended business college. She has been with the First National Rank for somelime. Mr Naut'ul. the son of Mrs. Eli Nauful of Columbia, and the late Mr. Nauful is in business in Columbia, where the young couple will make their homo after July 6. The out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. John Nauful of Charlotte, N. C., Mrs. Charles Nauful, MIhh Rosa Nauful and Ernest'- Nauful of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. Joo Kennerly of Holly Hill, Mrs. J. W. Wheeler of Kdington, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reed, Misses Martha and Nora Reed of Orangeburg. TRUESD ALE-BROWN A marriage of much interest throughout the state was that of Miss Mary Lee Truesdale to Dawson Edward Rrown, both of Camden. The marriage took place at Eau Clair Baptist church, Columbia, at 4 p. m. Sundajq June 20. T^ie Rev. L. A. Payne performing the double ring ceremony. | Only seven close friends attended, including the bride's sister, MIhb Mar tha Truesdale, and the sister of the groom. Miss Mary Ellen Brown. | The bride was lovely in her navy blue dress, with white and navy blue accessories. She wore a corBago of red and white roses, giving a patriotic . affect of red. white and blue. | The groom wore a royal blue suit with matching accessories. Mrs. Bcown is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Truesdale. She attended the Camden High school. f Mr. Brown is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Brown of Hartsville. He attended the Elliott public school and later attended the Palmetto School of Aerenautlcs. After the ceremony the couple left for a honeyrjjiifCn in the mountains of NorjJi^Ptffolina and Tennessee, and other points including a week at the beach. On return, they will reside at 418 Hampton avenue in Camden, where Mr. Brown is employed by the Southern Aviation school. WILL ENTERTAIN WEDDING PARTY Miss Alberta Team and Mrs. J. H.
