They expect to bo away about six weeks. Relatives and friends of Lieut. B. W. Heath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Heath, of this city, stationed at Shaw Field, will be interested to hear that Lieut. Heath has been commissioned a squadron commander at t'he mammoth basic post. Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Heath entertained at dinner at the Sarsfleld club Wednesday evenlpg for Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Buckley and Lieut, and Mrs. B. W. Heath. Mr. and Mrs. Buckley and family are leaving today for their summer home at Sharon, Conn. Fvt. James Tabb has returned to McDill Field, Tampa, Fla.. after a ten days furlough spent with Mr. and Mrs. Alva Rush and famly. Fvt. C., will meet with Mrs. Kate Singleton at 4 p. m. Monday afternoon, May 3 Memorial plans will be made. MRS. H. G. MARVIN HOSTESS AT LUNCHEON Mrs. H. G. Marvin. Rectory Square, was hostess to five of her friends at luncheon Monday, the occasion being the birthday of Miss Ethel Yates and the anniversary of Mrs. Marvin. Each year these friends spend this day together. After luncheon these ladies visited until late lu the afternoon. FREDDIE MULt-IN (HONORED SUNDAY Freddie Mullin, who left on Monday for Biloxi, Miss., to join the U. S. Army Air corps, was honored on Sunday night with a farewell party given by Miss Sidney Jones. R, Goodale, Jr., entertained for the members of the bridge club to which she belongs on Wednesday afternoon, April 21. Mrs. T. Lee Little and Mrs. Watson Baddy played for absent members. Table scores wore mude by Mrs. Little and the hostess. (Sandwiches and Coca-Colas were served after the card game. TOMMY REYNOLDS CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Master Tommy Reynolds, son of Mr. and Mrs, Titos. J. Reynolds, Mill St., was given a party on Monday afternoon In honor of his 7th birthday. Twelve of his little frieuds came in to play from three to five and brought him some grand pigments. His aunt, Mrs. J. K. McKaln, helped entertain and with his mother served delcllous refreshments, consisting of ice cream, birthday cake, cookies and candy. C. C. WHITAKER, 3rd AT KEESLER FIELD Caleb Clarke WliRaker, 3rd. who graduated from the Camden High school in June, 1942, and in Sept. left Camden for college. At the age of 17 he enlisted in tho Army Air corps from the University of North Carolina, and left there on April 26, 1943. for Keesler Field, lliloxi, Miss., whero he was inducted nito tho services. His father, Lieut. Caleb C. Whitaker, Jr., is serving his country with tho U. S. N. R. MRS. T. LEE LITTLE ENTERTAINED SATURDAY Mrs. T. Lee Little entertained on Saturday afternoon at the Little's summer place on Hermitage Lake for her son, Tommy, on his 15th birthday. Hoating, dancing and games were enjoyed from three to 10:30 when tho guests were taken to the midnight movje at the Camden theatre. Supper was served at 8 o'clock by Mrs. Little, assisted by Miss Mary Florence Little, to tho following: Misses Marynell Campbell, Molly Ruth Hedfearn, Kathryn Sheorn and Louise Blakeney, Buddy Sheorn, Elbert Byrd, Harry Candy and Tommy Little. MARTHA GOODALE CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Martha Goodale celebrated her 5th birthday Friday afternoon with a party at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. Roland Goodale, Jr. Her guests varied in ages from her little cousin, Katherine Rhame, 16 months, to Mrs. A. C. Drawdy and Mrs. George Hunns, neighbors and friends of the young hostess. Sixteen guests were invited and given a sweetpea nosegay ss they arrived. Mrs. W. L. Goodale hid Easter eggs aud assisted In entertaining the young guests. Later in the afternoon they were served birthday cake and ice cream and given ballons as favors. Mrs. N. R. Goodale, Martha's grandmother, helped serve. Out-of-town guest was Susan Nettles, daughter of Mr.' and Mrs. Stephen Nettles (Willie Belle Mackey) of Greenville. The Panama Canal Zone now has 51,830 residents, according to the recent census.
