commencement address, and Mr. W.

church In Lancaster. has accepted
the invitation to preech the Iktccalaureate
sermon for the graduation
exerciser at Huron DeKalb school. The
commencement exorcises will be held
the night of June 1, 1943. and the

LIEUT RICHARDS IS
SENT TO CHICAGO
Lieut. J. G. Richards. Jr . who was
recently assigned for advanced training
a,t St. Joseph, Mo., spent the weekend
witli liis parents in this city.
Lieut. Richards left Tuesday by
plane for Chicago where ho will be
statiomnl for the next several months
at the plant of the American Air
Lines company.

IS PRISONER OF WOPS
Word has been received from the
War Deimrtment that Pvt. James J.
Gardner is captured by the Italians.
Private Gardner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. G. Gardner, of Logoff, was reported
missing in action about a
month or two ago.
He also has relatives here. Among
thorn his sister, Mrs. Monroe Osborne,
and Misses Susie and Mary Gardner

DuBope of Camden, was commissioned
a second lieutenant in the Army of
the United States today upon successful
completion of the Officer Candidate
Course at the Infantry school at
Fort Benning. Lt. DuBose Is the son
of Mrs. N. S. DuBose of 1302 Western
Ave., Norfolk, Va. The new officer is
a graduate of Camden High school and
Clemson college, where he was prominent
as an agriculturo student.
