Mr. Wilson is a prominent farmer j and rhlll operator of West Wateive. j After tlie ceremony, which took! place at 3:30 p m.. the bride and groom, uccompanlcd by friends, drove to the bride's home, whore they wire, met by friends of hoih bride and j groom from Kershaw and Lee ooun-' ties where the reception was held and a sumptuous wedding dinner served. S was the scent! of an impressive ceremony Monday night,1 April ft. 1943. which united in marriage Miss Sarah Thomas Campbell, of Camden, and CpL. Howard it. Lur.is. of Woodbury Heights, N'. J. The \o\\s were spoken betoro the chancel, which' was hanked with dogwood and spjrhea j indosperoed with seven branch candles in candlebra. Mrs. Forest rendered several musical selections and Mrs. McKenzle sang "I Love You Truly" and "At Dawning." Mr. Lamest Hafus. Aiken, and Mr John F. Parker of Columbia, served as ushers. Miss Ruby Marshall, maid of honor, was very becomingly attired in it pick net dress, she carried a colonial bouquet of pink carnations, delphinium and Dutch iris, tied with blue ribbon. Sgt. Kingston Miller. Camp Gordon. Augusta. Ga , served the groom as best man. The bride and groom entered the church together. The bride was never lovelier than in her wedding gown of double faced ivory satin with a yoke of cant illy lace. The drese was fashioned with a tight bodice of satin to which was gathered a very full skirt. Her vail of Ivory net was gathered to a Mary Queen of Scotts coronet of the same material. The bride carried a white prayer book mounted with an orchid, showered with white roses and fern. Her only ornament, a string of matched pearls, a gift of the groom. The ceremony was preformed by tiie Rev. H. IV Lever. Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs. Wen-' dell Rarclay. The bride and groom left later in the evening for a honeymoon of undisclosed destination. For travel Mrs. Lucas wore an Aqua tailored suit with navy accessories. Her corsage was of orchids. Mrs. Lucas is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Campbell of Blaney. She graduated from Blaney High school and the Camden Hospital School of Nursing. At the time of her marriage she was employed at Aiken County Hospital, Aiken. Cpl. Lucas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. \V. D. Lucas, of Woodbury Heights, N. J. He attended the local schools. For the past two years he has been in the Armed services and stationed at Augusta, Ga. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Walter Monteith, Mr. and Mrs. John Parker and Miss Dora Lee Campbell, of Columbia, and Miss Elizabeth Gaskin. of 'Camden. Ripon Wilson Laltoehe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wil* Main Reynolds Laltooho of Charles ton, here yesterday at the 'home of her parents on Union street. The ceremony was performed by the Hev Maurice Clarke, DR.. rerun of Grace episcopal church, the double ring ceremony being used. The nuptial event took place at 6 o'clock In the evening. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white satin on princess lines of the late 19th century with throe quarter length leg o* mutten sleeves. She wore a finger tip veil of illusion with orange blossoms and carried a nosegay of white roses and sweet peas. Miss Anno Whitaker of Camden, was maid ol honor and wore a go\> n of delphinium blue satin on princess lines with sweetheart neck and full three quarter length sleeves. She carried a nosegay of pink roses and blue delphinium. Edward Mostick LaRoche of Charleston. was best man. Dining the ceremony musical selections including "The Barcerole" from Tales of Hoffman, and the ''Evening Star" from Tannhauser, were played. At the end of the ceremony "The Lord's Prayer" was sung. A reception followed the wedding ceremonial at which the newly wedded were assisted in receiving by members of the wedding party together with the mother of the bride and the parents of the groom. The bridal table was centered with white gladioli and sweet peas on a lace cloth. The floral d?>corations were flanked with lighted tapers. In the center ot the table was a three tirered cake miriiiininted with figurines .of a bride und groom. This cake was cut by the bride during the evening. Mrs. Henry Savage, Sr . mother of di?' bride, had chosen for her gown a becoming creation of coffee colored lace and she wore an orchid corsage. Mrs. William Reynolds Laltoche, mother of the groom, was attired in egg shell sheer falcon and her corsage also featured an orchid. The traveling outfit of the bride was a yellow wool suit trimmed with navy blue and her accessories all in white. Her hat was of straw and trimmed with a navy blue veil. She wore an orchid corsage. The honeymoon will feature a trip to Washington and points in Virginia. Upon their return they will take up housekeeping at 611 Queen street Columbia, where they will be at home to their friends after April 12. The bride is a graduate of Converse college, where she was affiliated with the Episol Delta social club and the Senior Order. During the past year she lias been connected in a responsible capacity with radio station WIS in Columbia. Dr. La Roche is a graduate of the College of Charleston and the Medical College of South Carolina, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa Medical Fraternity. He will intern at Columbia hospital.
