There are many vacant lots scattered about the city, which year after year ^become weed patches. With the need for tho establishing of Victory Hardens, tho civilian defense of< flcials urge that the owners of these lots permit t-hem to be used for garden purposes. One of the outstanding social I events, t???tIt (or attendance, color and music, was that of tite annual police hall which took place in the High school gymnasium Thursday evening The hig gymnasium, a riot of color with a decorative motif which overshadowed any previous decorative efforts at social affairs in Camden, was taxed to accomodate the many hullI dreds of couples which tripped the ligtyt fantastic from t) until 1 o'clock to the music furnished hy a splendid orchestra from Shaw Field. The music was so outstanding (hat it was the talk of the evening. The orchestra numbers in its personnel artists of national reputation and the program offered was quite the fittest dance medley Camden has heard in | many years.
