Notice of Democratic Primary Election In pursuance of the rules of the Democratic Party, notice 1b hereby Klven that A primary election will be held at the various voting precincts in Kershaw county, South Carolina, on the 26th day of August, 1942, for the purpose of nominating candidates of the Democratic Party for all elective State offices, for one member of the United States Senate, for one member of Congress from the Fifth Congressional District, for one Solicitor for the Fifth Judicial Circuit, and for County Offices of Kershaw County as follows: One State Senator, two members of the House of Representatives, one County Auditor, one County Treasurer, one Sheriff, one Judge of Probate, one Coroper, one County Game Warden, one Cotton Weigher at Camden, to be voted fpr by voters of DeKalb and Wateree Townships, one County Director each for Buffalo, DeKalb, Flat Rock and Wateree Township^, one Magistrate for DeKalb Township with office at Camden, two Magistrates for Buffalo i Township, one with office at Bethune and one with office at Kershaw, two ^Magistrates-Tor FlRt Rock Township, two Magistrates for Wateree Township, one frofn upper' Wateree, and one for lower Wateree, Twenty Five Mile Creek being the dividing line between upper and lower Wateree. Managers of election are likewise urged to carefully observe the rules as to the counting of absentee ballots, the keeping of separate lists of same on the poll list, in accordance with Section 8 of Rule 47, appearing on page 16 of the Official Rules of the Party. Polls will open at 8 a. m. and close at 4 p. m. except at Camden No. 1, and Camden No. 2, Hermitage and Wateree precincts, at which precincts polls will open at 8 a. m. and close at 6 p. rfi. C., August 5.?While maintaining a tentative annual level of twelve billion dollars as its goal, the Treasury Department today fixed the August quota for the sale of War Bonds at $815,000,000 as shown by the aoeompanying map by states. In lowering the quota from a billion dollars in Jnly to $815,000,000 in August, the Treasury has given recognition to certain factors Which may be expected to result in variations in sales over the 12-month period, such as the seasonal character of farm income. These factors have been taken Into aceouni in determining each state's share for the national quota for August and will be given consideration in fixing quotas for subsequent months. In addition to the state quotas as set out in the map there is a federal payroll allotment quota of $9,750,000 and territorial quotas as follows: Alaska. $760,000; Canal Zone. $213,000; Hawaii. $4,800,000; Puerto Rico, $440,000 and the Virgin Islands, $17,000. "The next few weeks will be a critical period in egg production ? a time when careful feeding will be essential to keep hens at maximum production and to assure that young pullets will have adequate live weight before starting egg production In the fall. Laying hens need ample feed to produce eggs and more of It to grow feathers during the molting season, while pullets now require feed for growth and for egg production that Is to follow."
