' Canteen Course Starts Monday Those who have completed the ( course in nutrition, taught by Mrs. C. T. Baldwin, may enter the canteen course, to begin Monday, April 15, at Grammar school, Lyttleton street. These classes will be hold every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 3 to 5 o'clock and will also be taught by Mrs, Baldwin. WcS-^ Mother is Given Medal of Honor Mrs. Bertha Catoo, residing six miles from Kershaw, was on Thursday presented with a beautiful pen rrom Hie Emblem of Honor Association of America in recognition of her contribution of four sons to the servieo of the nation. The presentation was to have been made at the meeting of the Rotary club Thursday noon but bocauso of a mlxup in the bus schedule from Kershaw Mrs. Catoe did not reach Cainien until 2:00 o'clock. The presentation was then made at the office of the chamber of commerce. Mrs. Catoe not only has four sons In the armed service of the nation but two of her daughters are also engaged in, army activity at Fort- Bragg, vln addition to these six children there are four others who are helping the5 mother and father work their farm near Kershaw. In the February issue of the "Our Army" magazine there was a picture af Mrs. Catoe with a write-up regarding her fine contribution to the armed forces of the nation. Home Guards In Army Day Parade Camden citizens had thoir first opportunity to obHerve the progress made in the drill and maneuver ability of the home guard unit on Monday, Army day. Led by Captain John K. deLoach, ? the home guards featurod an Army v day parade that was held at 6:00 o'clock In the afternoon, starting from Humpton Park and marching through the business area. ' The guards In their natty uniforms presented a. smart appearance and , marched with the precision and alertness of veterans. The group was given a big hand from the crowds that stood along the curb of the line of march. ' Included In the parado was the Camden high school band and a group of American Legion members and the Red Cross motor corps unit of some twenty-five or thirty cars.
