The efficiency of the Air Corps personnel! assigned to the Air Corps
Training Detachment at Camden, S. C. and their whole-hearted cooperation
with the personnell of the Southern Aviation School has been a contributing
factor in establishing a smooth running organization for the training of
pilots for both the*U. S. Air Corps and the Royal A*ir Force of England.
Each individual shown on this page feels their responsibility keenly In
seeing that every effort is made to give the student fliers every opportunity
and get full benefit of their training to become military pilots.
The students recreational" schedule to keep them alert and physically
ilf; their social and amusement desires in making them contented and last
but most Important their progress and learning the art of flying are all of
vital interest to these Air Corps officers. *
it is no ea&y assignment and one for which the air corps selects its
men with the utmost of care. ^Lieutenant Henry C. Huglln, Commanding
officer and those assisting him have proven most worthy of the confidence
1 placed in them.
Lielitenant Huglin is a graduate of West Point and Kelly Field, Texas
and was transferred to his pit-sent command from a similar school at Sikeston.

Southern Aviation School is one of the 33 training schools under the
jurisdiction of The Southeast Air Corps Training Center. All of these,
composing a single and unilied system for training flyng cadets, are under
command of Brgadier General Walter It. Weaver, with headquarters at Maxwell
Field. Ala.
The Southeast Training (tutor is one of three renters each doing the
same joh. The other two ar. lie Gulf Coast Training Center, with headquui
ters at Randolph Field. T- \ . and the West Coast Training Center, with
headquarters at Moffett Field. Calit.

At Camden tin* Southern Aviation School litis already made plans to
build another barracks, hangar and recreation building to take care of i
larger classes ot students that will be assigned the school in the next
thirty days.
The se\en primary schools now in operation in the center are civilian
schools under contract to the Army Air Corps and are located at: Albany,
(in.; Jackson. Miss..: Lakeland. Fla.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Americus, Ga.; Camden.
S. C.: and Arcadia, Fla.
