McCrao and Miss Virginia MeCrae went to Columbia Tuesday to attend the music festival and to hear John Richards MeCrae, South Carolina harltone, sing. Mr. MeCrae will sing at Heath Springs and a nil in her of other town# on his present visit to his home state. Mrs. ft. C Jones has received notice of the doath of her nephew, Professor Ceorgo P. Hoffman, at Ills home in Meridian, Miss., where he was super. Intendent of the I'nited States horticultural field station, lie was a I Clemson graduate and did post graduate .work in other colleges. He used to visit his aunt here, before making tils home in Mississippi and Is remembered by many here who are sorry, to learn of his death. Frank M Clements died on Saturday In Columbia after a long period of III health. Ho grew up to manhood near Camden, but had made his home in Columbia for many years, where he was engaged in Insurance work. Surviving are his widow who was the former Miss lCssle Roberts, one son and two daughters, and a number of other relatives. He was a nephew of this writer who in tho company of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Clements and J. H. Clements, Jr., attended the burial services conducted by tho Ilev .1 H. Caston at Malvern Hill Chapel J?HI. Mrs. Wntklns is.the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gardner of Kershaw. She was reared in the Midway section of Lancaster county and was graduated from tho Flat Creek High school with honors. For the past few years she has lived in Kershaw and been employed by the Royal Cafe. Mr. Wat kins is the eldest son of Rural Policeman and Mrs. S. P. Watkins of Belbune. He Is a graduate of the Bethuno High school and was formerly employed by the Home Stores in Kershaw and I^ancaster. At present ho is eoneeted with the Springs Mill in Kershaw.
