was Interesting and appropriate to
the occasion, communion services being
held at Us close. Dr. Richards
! remained over as a guest of his brothers,
former governor John.G. Richards
and N. S. Richards, and tilled
the pulpit again at night, basing his
discourse on the scrl-ptual Injunction,
"Pray without ceasing." Dr. Richards
Is an Interesting talker and our people
are always ghul to hear him on
his occasional visits to his boyhood
home. I>r. Richards was accompanied
by Joseph M. Gammon, of Brazil, who
Is a senior student at Davidson college.
He was born and reared In that
big South American country, whore
UIh parents from. South Carolina are
missionaries.

parents of Mrs. Anderson.
Mrs. J. K. Herlot, of Rishopvllle,
was horo on Monday to see her mother,
Mrs. C. K, Richards, who has been
sick for some time but was reported
better Sunday. A trained nurse Is In
attendance.
Mrs. F. B. Floyd was a Camden
business visitor on Monday.
Misses Margaret Richards of Columbia
college, and Johngy Richards,
Chester county demonstration agent,
spent Sunday at home.
Mrs. A. L. McCasklll, of the Blenhlem
school, was here for a short
stay lost week.
Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Williams, of
Camden, were the guests of Rev. and
Mrs. F. A. Drennan on Sunday.
L. P. Thompson left some days ago
for the Santee-Cooper project where
he has a position.
Mrs. N. S. Richards and Miss Edith
Richards were Charlotte visitors last
week. Mrs. Richards consulted the
specialist who treated her eyes re- (
cently, and found the condition satisfactory.
Rev. John E. Richards, of Waynesboro,
Ga.. visit<h1 his parents, Mr. and
Mrs . N. S. Richards, last week.
Mr and Mrs R. C. Jones, Jr.. of
Lancaster, were Sunday guests lu the
home of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Jones. Sr.
Winter continues to stay with us.

cold and heavy frosts were reported

When the rats invade the thicken
run. Winston goes into action and his
sharp beak is a veritable bomb to the
rat invaders Winston takes a couple
of shots itt the form of lightning-like
pecks and Mr Adolph Rat either
beats a hasty retreat or is hors de
combat.
Winston likes to get Into action
with one of his own race when occasion
warrants, but he gets a lot of fun
out of his aerial combat with the rodents.
