FIRST FEDERAL SAVINGS DECLARES ANNUAL DIVIDEND The First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Camden In line with its usual conservative policy has again declared Its annual dividend of four per cent from the profits of the association, and has carried to Its reserves $1,774.41 after paying $4,620.44 in dividends to Its shareholders. During the past year the association to aid in home ownership of the community has made forty loans with a valuo of $74,780.O0. It has also increased its savings and investment shares by $.">0,994.34, making a total of private invested capital of^ $120,-j 063.90. These shares are insured by the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation up to $5,000 00. Funds left with the association before the tenth of the month will draw dividend as of-the first. We consider this one of the worthy projects that the government la sponsoring, and hope that it will continue to grow in usefulness and give pleasure and recreation to the reading public. A number of government employees from the county agent's office were here for a while Tuesday evening giving the farmers of our section the chance to sign up for their AAA cotton parity adjustment checks, the receipt of which have been pleasantly anticipated for some time, and are always given the glad hand upon their arrival. The group was composed of three vivacious and charming young ladies-?Misses Ellen Strak, Mary Lee Wapd and Kathryn Myers; and two very pleasant men?W. H. Marshall and Everette Montgomery. They did their work expeditiously and pleasantly?packed their books and departed ?leaving a pleasant Impression on those they had occasion to serve. We hope they will come again. L. P. C School Improvement Association The Pino Grove School Improvement Association held its annual meeting Tuesday, January 9, in the school auditorium. The meeting was called to order by the president.
