Ross?Windham The marriage of Miss Florrle Mae Ross to Spender David Wlndhaiu, has been announced by the bride's father, J S. E. Rosa, of Blaney. The wedding j was solemnized Friday. November 17, in Camden. The bride is the youngest daughter of S. E. Ross and the late Mrs. Ross. She has been making her home in Camden with her brother and sisterin-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Ross, for the past ten years. Mr. Windham, the son of the late .\1 L. Windham and Mrs. Windham, of Manning, Is now making his home ht're where he is an employee of the tl. A Rheman Oil company, of Charleston. The young couple have an apartment on Hampton street. ." b ?-? ? In Honor of Bride An unusually pretty uffair of the' week was the informal tea which Mrs. J J. E. Ross gave Thanksgiving eve from 5 to 6:30 o'clock to announce | the marriage oT"KeF slster-in-iaw, "Miss' Klorrie Mae Ross, to Spencer David Windham, of Manning and Camden, who were married November 17. The house was decorated entirely with white flowers and lighted with white candles to carry out the party color scheme of green and white. The Kuestt* were - greeted by Miss Lila -Ross and as they entered they were presented with a tiny scroll bearing :iie announcement, by the hostess' small granddaughter, Barbara Jean Ross. In the receiving line with Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Windham were Miss Alice Windham, of Newberry; Mrs. H C. Hill, of Sumter; and Mrs. Luke Driggers, a reoent bride of Columbia. Mrs. B. W. Marshall had charge of the bride's register and the guests were invited Into the dining room by Mrs. Glenn Maloney, of York. Forming a pretty centerpiece for the dining room table, was a bridal scene arranged on a reflector. The table was lighted with white" candles In silver candelabra. Punch, cake and mints were served by Miss Jane Castou. Miss Alberta HofTman, Miss Mattie l^ee Cullen and Miss Grace Rhoden. Mrs. Windham is the youngest laughter of S. E. Ross and the late Mrs. Ross, of Blaney. She attended the University of South Carolina and fur the past few years has made her home with her brother, J. E. Ross, of Camden. Mr. Windham is the son of Mrs. Mamie L. Windham, of Manning. He is employed by the George A. Rheman oil company, of Charleston, with headquarters in Camden. Met With Mr*. Little Mrs. George Little was among the idge hostesses who gave parties on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Little en'ertained at home" and for the occasion the house was attractively decorated with fall leaves and flowers. Mrs. Kirby Tupper and Mrs. W. L. Numerous attractive parties have been given as pre-nptlal events In honor of Miss ftoblnson and her flance. i Library For Sixth Grade One of the interesting projects at the grammar school Is the library which Is being collected by,lj** sixth grade for the use of meiubevs'df that class. The teacher, Mrs. J. R. Montgomery, contributed twenty-Hvo volumes as a nucleus und twenty-five additional volumes have been contributed by tho children. The grade also took an active part in the Book Week contests held by Mrs. Donald Morrison at the Camden Library and three members of this class won tho prizes. They were Shannon Lindsay, Mary Jo McManus and Skottowo Del'ass. New comers To camden The Camden winter colony is showing an interesting growth this season. The Proctor home on North Lyttleton street has been leased for the season by Mr. and Nfrs. Tom Girdler, of Cleveland, Ohio. vMr, Girdler, president of the Itepubllc Stoel corporation, Is one of the outstanding Industrialists of the country. He plans to bring five of his hunters with him to Camden when ho arrives next month. Attorney and Mrs. James Inglls, of Detroit, have leased Miss Ruth Rich aid's North Cottage at Brevard Place and will occupy It from January 1 to April 15. Honor Recent Bride Miss Llla Ross, Miss Ellen Strak and Miss Tlnka Hendrlx were Joint hostesses at a shower given Monday "afternoon in honor of Mrs. Harold Lyttleton, the former Miss Bernise Hendrlx, who was recently married. During the afternoon games and contests were enjoyed and in these, the prizes were won by the honor guest and Miss Edna Strak. After refreshments of punch, cakes and candies, the bride received many lovely gifts for iter trosseau. Club Met Wednesday The members of the Neighborhood bridge club were guests Wednesday afternoon of Mrs. A. C. KcKaln when she entertained with" a pretty party at her home on Hampton street. Only members were present and the afternoon's high scores were made by Mrs. Dess Goodale and Mrs. McKain.
