state on a gorgeous float and under escort of two units of the State Militia, fifty motor units of the South Caro- II
lina State Police, beautifully decorated floats and autos-all proceeding through the wide avenues of this fa- II
mous resort city to the strains of military music by three bands-the Charleston Police Band, University of South ||
Carolina Band and the Lancaster High School Band. 11
See the planes soaring overhead and sending down rainbow cascades of confetti as the street parade ? III
marches through the business district. HI
Camden will be turned over to the Farmers of Kershaw County. A Farmer-Mayor, six Farmer-Councilmen |||
and a farmer Chief of Police will rule supreme. , III
Band concerts and fun in Hampton Park with hog calling contests, husband calling events, races for fat |||
men and fat women and for policemen and firemen. See the largest family at the festival; see the family com- |||
ing the longest distance. Prizes for everything. . ? ? HI
Enter your float, your car or anything on wheels, for you may be the lucky one to win a big cash prize. And |||
there are four divisions of floats, organization, agricultural, community and miscellaneous. ||l

Remember the prizes to be awarded for the best pair of harnessed mules in the parade. Hitch your mules III
to a wagon, decorate it up and go after one of the four cash awards. ' III
And in the evening?the most elaborate and exquisite ball room event of decades?the coronation ball. Ill
See the crowning of Miss Carolina, Queen of the Cotton Festival. Dancing to the lilting and swing music of III
Vicent Eiserman and his 10-piece Band. Dancing 9 to 1 o'clock. HI
The Coronation Ball will be held in the Gymnasium of the High School. |M
In case of rain the parade and contests of the Festival will be held Friday. The Coronation Ball will be held HI
