Change In Conservation Program
The 1939 soil conservation program
has been amended by omitting the
provision for computing payments on
125 per cent of planted acreage where
lean iuikh 20 per the cotton^
acreage allotment is planted. Payments.
.will, be . computed on baais of
allotment V; Irrespective of acreage
' cotton in 1939 if it is determined
that normal farming operations
are carried out on the farm.
This means that It will no longer be
necessary to plant 100 per cent payments.
If a farm has received a cotton
acreage allotment and no cotton
is planted on the farm payments will
be made provided the farm is not
classified as an idle farm, says W. C.
