Mrs. Jack Nettles Hostess
Complimenting Mrs. G. E. Stupalsky,
of Montclair, N. J., aunt of the
hostess, Mrs. Jack Nettles entertained
Friday evening at four tables of
bridge. The party was given, at the
Ihome of Mrs. John Nettles on Laurens
street and invited to play with the
honor guest were members of Mrs.
Nettles* contract club and the following:

and also to meet the wives of the
Syracuse ball players, Mrs. Nettles invited
a number of guests later for tea.
Mrs. J. A. Sterne and Mrs. John Nettles
assisted the hostess in serving a
salad course, followed by a sweet
course.
Garden Club Meets ??
Mrs. H. G. Marvin was hostess to
the Camden Garden club for . the
March meeting, An interesting talk
on "Flower Shows" was made by Mrs.
John M. _ Vlllepigue. Mrs. William
Rainsford gave a report on the Flower
show recently sponsored by the Garden
club. The questionnaire was presented
by -Miss Helen Phelps. Mrs.
Arnett's collection of flowers won the
blue ribbon award and Mrs. Gulon's
exhibit received honorable mention.
The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Gulon
and Miss Leila Shannon, served a delicious
tea course.

Celebrating her fourteenth birthday,
Miss Emily Team, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ben Team, gave a pretty

The Plaze-u-Pleze contract club
had a very delightful meeting Monday
evening when Miss Cornelia Oliver
was hostess at her apartment on Monument
Square. Supper,, was served
before the bridge., games. Substituting

used in profusion to decorate the

Dinner Party
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett, of Syracuse,
N. Y? gave a dinner party at
the Court Inn Tuesday evening in
eelebrailon of their eighth wedding
anniversary. Covers were laid for ten
guests. . I

That Camden will have a gala day
on Saturday 1b evidenced on all sides.
Visitors at private homes and hotels
have been arriving throughout the
week and they are still pouring In.
The tenth annual running of the Carolina
Cup at the Springdale Course on
Saturday is most assuredly going to
be a record one, if a huge list of sub-j
scrlbers and an entry list of sixty-'
nine horses, some of them America's
leading steeplechasers, are any criterlons
at all. . |
Festivities in every form have been
taking place dally during the week
and they will continue over the week
, end.
J; Prior to the races-on Saturday, the

party at the Kirkwood in honor of
Governor Burnett R. Maybank and

Mrs. Marion Williams entertained
at a buffet luncheon Tuesday morning
at her home. Twenty-eight guests
were seated at small tables on which
an Easter motif in yellow and white
was used.
