Two men are under arrest in London on a charge of attempting to kidnap Lord .Nuffield, the "Henry Ford of England." The arrest was made at a plant of the Morris Motor company near Oxford, England. Roy W. Lentz, sales manager of an automobile firm, was shot to death on the streets of Concord, N. C., Tuesday. The police arrested Jack Freeze, G2t automobile salesman, for questioning. Mia F. T. Hobertaon, mother of tlie two men teatllled that alie saw lillliard Hobertaon running down through a field aa Boyd Hobertaon tired a shot at him from the doorway of the homo. She aald that Ililllard Hobertaon took refugo behind a tree and that Boyd told him that it ho came out from behind ihe tree be would be killed. After coming out from behind thetree ililllard Hobertaon fired two abuts, it waa aald, causing tlie fatal Injuries. Boyd Hobertaon fired one shot at ilia brother as lie run from the home, it waa aald by the mother. Ed Walker, an old negro man testified ub to hearing three shots but said he did not witness the shooting. When ho arrived at the Hobertaon home he said ho saw Boyd Hobertaon lying In the doorway in a dying condition. He testified that the man lived for about forty-five minutes after he arrived but was dead before a doctor arrived. County physician H. D. Crawford and Dr. Hutledge, of Heath Springs were summoned but Boyd Hobertaon died before either of them arrived upon the scene. Boyd Hobertaon lived with his mother at the place where the shooting occurred while lillliard Hobertaon lives on the family plantation mar the home of his mother. The bullet which caused the death was a 32 calibre steel jacket t> pe which entered the side of tlie deceased and went almost through his body. It was cut out after lodging on the opposite side of his body from which he was shot. According to the story Milliard Hobertson told Sheriff Hlackinon who arrested him, Boyd Hobertson came into the home where he was visiting and the brother seemed to be; in an ugly mood. Milliard said that ho went out in the field and started to hoe when his brother shot at hint It seems as though Boyd Robertson got possession of bis mother's revolver some time before tho fatal shooting and caused some trouble. Mrs. Hobertson asked Sheriff Blacktnon to arrest her son about a week previously and the sheriff told her that be woud do so if she took out a warrant. According to reports she took out a warrant before Magistrate Bridges at Heath Springs and Boyd Hobertson seemed to resent the action. Just what part Milliard Hobertson played in the event leading up to the fatal shooting is not clear but it is believed that the arrest warrant is what led to the tragedy. Family quarrels at this place have occurred before, residents of that vicinity say. Milliard Hobertson was arrested by Sheriff Hlackinon at his home following the killing. Saturday afternoon arrangements for bond were made by Attorney Allen Sapp and Robertson was released from custody.? Dancaster News.
