Kvery person, Aria, company or corporation. engaged on I May 1, 1938, In any calling, busluess, | profession or occupation In whole or | in part within the City of Camden, tut may be hereinafter specified, ehal obtain during the month of Max. 1938, a license therefor lu the manner hereinafter presclrbed. Kvery per sou firm, company or corporation engaged in or intending to engage lu any calling,) business, profession or occupation for ! which a license Is required, shall ap! piy to the Clerk and Treasurer of the City of Camden for the same by whom all such licenses shall bo Issued, and shall at the time of applying, make and sign a written statej inent under oath, and file it with the I said Clerk and Treasurer, setting forth: First, his or her or Its name jor style, the name of the persons constituting such firm or company. ! Second, the calling, business, profes1 slon or occupation for which license lis required. Provid- j led. however, that immediate payment' may be required in each and every | ' case at the discretion of the said Clerk and Treasurer, and the fore' going provision shall in no wise stay lor hinder action to enforce immediate payment; which tax and penalty -hall be recovered in the manner hereinafter prescribed, and if any person, firm, company or corporation required so to do by the terms of this ordinance shall refuse or neglect to make nut and deliver to the Clerk and Treasurer of the City of Camden, on or before the time herein required, ihe statement provided for by Section 2 of this ordinance, or 8hall_ make__?_. false statement, or shall refuse to take and subscribe an oath or affirmation as to the truth of such statement. or any part thereof; or from any cause shall fall to take out such license as may be required by this ordinance, the said Clerk and Treasurer shall report the case to the Mayor, who shall proceed to ascertain as nearly as possible, the business of such person, firm, company or corporation. for which he. she or it maybe liable to a license tax therefor.) and in case of default for the purpose J of such investigation, the said Clerk and Treasurer shall notify the person, firms companies. or corpora' :ons :i. I default to appear be-fore 'he Mayor at his office?at a time stated in said notice; and also such witnesses as the Mayor may desire to examine. Section 5. All licenses granted under this ordinance shall continue in force until the first day of May A. D., \ 1939, except such as are written for a shorter period, as may hereinafter he providod. The City Council reserves the right to revoke any licenses for any cause which to them may seem to be Just Section 6.
