Luncheon Club Had Ladlee Night Ladles' Night was held by the Tuesday Luncheon club of Camden at The; Pines on last Thursday. Around six-1 ty were present for the affair. D. J. Creed, past president of the club had the program in charge. M. M. Johnson was called upon for his taik on "Sense and Nonsense.". A. Sam Karesh, president of the local Rotary duty-made a talk on'Inter-Club ; Relations. ? Elihu Schloaburg, was requested to arrange the. entertainment program and had as his guest artists, Mrs. F. N. McCorkle, who rendered a piano solo. Miss Margaret Land and Miss Phyllis' Karesh, Camden's talented dancers gave exhibitions of soft-sboe any syncopated tap routines. Final plana were maoe for the face day dance to be held at the Klrkwood Hotel at the regular meeting of the Junior Welfare League, January 7, at the beowof Virginia Haile, the president. The following committee were named: Virginia Halle, chairman of dance; Mary Goodale, orchestra; Olive Mackey, tickets; Miriam Mullen, publicity; Susan Kennedy, hotel arrangements; Phyllis Wooten, sponsor*. Vincent Eisorman, from Florence, has been engaged to play for the dance from 10 to 2. The Kiserman orchestra is featuring "Little Charlie Foster," formerly of Jan Garbers supper club and world's fair, whose voice has been heard oVer the country's finest radio outlets and whose personality at the world's fair made him famous. Mr. Smith, manager of the Klakwood, Is cooperating with the League in every way to make the dance a success and says that if parties can 1 be arranged he will open the grill for supper in addition to the main dinmg room where dinner will be served. Sponsors for the dance will be announced at a later date. Proceeds from the dance will be used in the annual tonsil clinic supported by the | League fa June. Out of town guests and the people of Camden and their friends are invited. The dance will be Informal. D. A. R. Held Meeting A specially called meeting of the Hobkirk Hill chapter D.e A. Bryce Herbert. The speaker for the occasion was Dr. Wilfred Callcott, professor of history at the University of South Carolina, who gave a very enlightening talk on world affairs from the period starting about the year 1913 to the present time.
