M. VlUepigue with Mrs. J. 8. Dunn and Mrs.o Hamilton Osborne, assistant hostesses. Plans were made for holding a plant exchange at the home of Mrs. W. J. Dunn Thursday, September 30. The club decided to have a booth at the county fair and Mrs. Willis Cantey was appointed chairman. An interesting program featurturiug the topic of practical gardening was given by Mrs. N. Mrs sfHW' Mrer^S Synopsis Of School Attendance Law The following 1b a synopsis of the regular schoob attendance law in which teachers, parents and pupils are requested hv the?Buparlntendfliitof education to read and get fully acquainted with: Attendance teacher contacts parents or guardians of uon attending children enrolled in the most convenient chool located nearest their home by securing transfer if necessary and have children continue to attend. Attendance teacher shall be qualified to handle all problems of non-attendance no matter what the cause. . Within thirty days after each school term opens, trustees shall have made census of all children of school age. in each district between the ages of seven and sixteen inclusive who j had not enrolled in such school dis-j trlct. or in some other district during aid thirty day enrollment period, and the names, ages, placet Of residence, sad names of parents or guardians of such children of school age not enrolled shell be forthwith filed with the county superintendent of education, who shall thereupon consolidate all of said names Of children in alphabetical order into one list and certify the same to the attendance teacher of the county. ^ . Teachers are required to report children absent five days running and failure to do this requires teacher to forfeit five dollars, each month.
