Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Hauch, chaperoned the party. Supper For Young Folke Mary and Jane Moller' were hostesses at an informal supper.for a few of their friends on Buuday night, at their home on Lyttleton street at 7:30" o'clock. After supper some of their young friends called and the young people enjoyed themselves until about tou o'clock. Khetta Blakenoy Invited the same group of girls to a supper at her house Tuesday night at 7:30 o'clock, after which the party went to the movies. Were Joint Hostesses Mrs. Burnet Lewis, of Philadelphia, and her sister, Mrs. Louis deLoach, of Saluda, fiJ. C., were joint hostesses at a luncheon given In honor of their sister-in-law, Mrs, Thomas J. Wooten, on Saturday afterpoon at 1 o'clock at the home of Mrs. F. M. Wooten, Sr., on Lyttleton street. The house was prettily decorated with fall flowers. The twenty guests were served a delicious lunch. Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. deLoach are In Camden on a visit to their mother, Mrs. F. M. Wooten, Sr. 9 Baptist Church Service* The following services are : ounced for week beginning September 12 at the First Baptist church: Sunday school at 10 o'clock with W. G. Wilson, Jr., superintendent, in charge. Public worship conducted by the pastor, J. B. Caston, at 11:15 a. m. and 8 p. m. Morning subject: "The Signs of the Times." Evening subject: "Building For the Future." B. T. U. Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. A school of Stewardship and Missions will be conducted next week. Classes each evening beginning at an hour yet tp be decided upon. Dr. Brooks will lecture to men, Mrs. Boatwright to the ladies, and Miss Lance wllLdirecf the program of young people. It is earnestly hoped that the school may.be largely attended. The public is cordially Invited' to attend all these services. In Honor of Birthday Mr. and Mrs. Ernest f^eltag and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mayer gave a lovely party Friday evening, September 3, at the Freltag home on York street. The occasion was the 75th birthday of Mrs. Susan Mayer, mother of Mrs. Freitag and Mr. Mayer. Late autumn flowers were used In the party rooms where the guests enjoyed games, contests and music. Later in the evening MISs Sadie Freitag presented the honor guest with a number of lovely and useful gifts that had been brought by the guests Ice cream, cake, cookies and mints were served. Assisting In serving and entertaining were: Mrs. Horace Hudson, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hinson and Misses Margaret Mayer,' Sadie Freitag and Myrtle Williams. Mrs Susan Mayer Is one of Camden's oldest and well known citizens. Woman's Auxiliary Meeting The general meeting of the Woman's Auxiliary, of Grace church, was held in the Parish House on Tuesday, September 7. Mrs. E. N. McDowell, president, presided. The subject for the afternoon was, "The United Thank Offering." Mrs, R. M. Kennedy, Jr., was in charge' of the program, Assisted by Mrs. Frank Wooten and Mrs. C. J. Shannon, 8rd. Misses Adeline Kohn and Bertha Kahweiler, of Orangeburg; Dave Kohn and Dave Kohn, Jr., ot Washington, D. C., spent several days last week with Mrs. Gus Hirsch. The hostesses were: Miss Katherine Murchison, Mrs. J. L. Wlliford, Mrs. Hughey Tindal, Miss Charlotte Boykin, Mrs. Henry Beard, Mm. Mortimer Boykin, Mrs. A. C, McKaln, Mrs. Dan Murchison. Mrs. Leonard Slienk, Mrs. Lee Little, Mrs. Alfred McLeod, Mrs. S. W. VanLandingham and Mrs. F. D. Goodale. As honor guests they invited a three-table bridge club from Sumter. A delightful thrpe-cburse luncheon was served at noon. The Camden club won the honors in the morning and the Sumter club was victorious in the afternoon. ^T Returns From Trip North l)r. John W.
