Mrs \Y I,. Outlaw; vice president. Miss Kthlvn j Oorbett; secretary. Miss Hessie Mae, Ilaskin After all officers were elect- j ed and other business was settled. Mrs Oliver, our leader, gave us a very interesting talk about the county | fair and how to improve our homes The club will hold It's next meeting the first Friday In July. At this meeting we are expecting the County Home Demonstration Agent, Miss Fewell to be with us The members of this club appreciate Mrs. Oliver helping organise this club and are trying to make it a successful club. Gates Ford Club Meets j The Gates Kor<l Home Demonstra- ! tion club met Wednesday afternoon. June 2. with Mrs Sam Hunter. The president. Mrs James Fletcher called the meeting to order. "The More We Get Together." was sunt by the club members Devotional conducted by Mrs Krnest Williams The roll was < ailed and minutes of last meeting read by the secretary. Miss Nell Seeirers A business session was then held in which the club house committees gave their reports. Also, a discussion of having our booth at the county fair this year The following members were appointed as a committee to look after different things for the booth: Mrs Krnest Williams. Mrs. 8 B Horton. Mrs. J A. Elliott and Mrs I-ena Mobley. Other business pertaining to the club was dla cussed The meeting was then turned over to the County Home Demonstration Agent. Miss Margaret Fewell. who gave all the club members a bulletin on "A Food and Feed Budget for ' Farm Familes " Also a bulletin on "Window Curtains." and several otbI er leaflets pertaining to the farm ' home Miss Fewell talked on "The Food and Feed Rudget For Families of Five," giving food guide for families of five. She told the amount and explained how we can easily attain the amount of food and feed. Some of the foods mentioned were: milk, butter, fat meat, lard, lean meat, fish, beef, poultry, eggs, potatoes, dried beans, peas, soybeans, peanuts, vegetables and fruits Then Miss Fewell gave us a budget to go by in canning the necessary fruits and vegetables that moans most to the health of our farm women and their families She told us the amount of grain it would take to food our poultry and farm animals. all the year at little expense. If we can follow some or these suggestions or points we can live at home much cheaper than when we have all these things to buy. The hostess. Mrs. Sam Hunter, assisted by Mrs. James Fletcher, Miss Kate West and Miss Margaret Ann Bowers, served delicious refreshments. The meeting adjourned to meet the second Wednesday In July at the home of Mrs Ernest Williams. Malvern Hill Club Report The Malvern Hill Home Demonstration club met Friday, Msy 17, with Mrs. Cliff Smith. Mrs. H. T. Lovatta had charge of the devotional and this was followed by the roll call and minutes Each member then made out her report card of the club projects completed for the year. Miss Fewell then outlined t"he plans for the Kershaw county fair. The club plans to have a "booth as well as entering individual articles. The Kershaw county fair belongs to every Individual In the county and If everyone would take tome part we would have a fair that would make all the other counties green with envy (or what ever the envy color is). We had such a good time at our July picnic last year that we arw going to atage another one thla coming month. ^ The hostess served sandwiches, cake and Iced tea. i J The Ford Motor company inf?*8*!
